Anyone ever been to Paesanos on 1604? How is it, is it more pricy than like a Macaronni Grill, Aldino's, etc??? How is it? I'm thinking of taking the girlfriend there tonight, but i can't if its too upscale.

Pricier than both. Certainly superior to Macaroni Grill and I haven't been to Aldinos. Been to Aldos though and that's great food and good atmosphere (nice and cozy). Paesanos is really good food though. Is that location open already?

How expensive is PF Changs? I've heard from alot of people that its extremely pricy. I plan on spending on at least $200 on dinner tonight including drinks. Is that enough?

:lol

PF Chang's isn't pricey at all. I always laugh when people say that. It's $8-10 per dish.

Paesano's on 1604 is open. I haven't been to that one yet, but I have seen a lot of cars there. I know the one by the Quarry has wonderful food but it is pricey.
As for PF Chang's..When we go there we always get the orange peel shrimp, Mongolian beef and chicken fried rice and usually spend about $40. And that's for three people. Of course that doesn't include alcohol or appetizers if you have those. But like Kori said, it's really not expensive. I'm sure you could run up a bill if you drank a lot and had lots of appetizers. It's the wait there that kills you. Just be patient.

You can make reservations at PF Changs now. The last time we went, we only had to wait about 5 minutes with a reservation. That's because a certain retired basketball player took our table!

I keed.

They also have a pretty good margartia there.

Yes, we passed by there last night and it was crowded already and it was early. We didn't eat there, though. We were on our way to Alamo Cafe, which is cheap and has good food. :spin

At this rate, it will be a cold day in Hell before you ever go there...

I haven't been to Paesano's in ages, but they used to have this dish called Shrimp Paesano that is out of this world.

Funny thing is, they put it in front of you, and there are only 5 shrimp. Granted, they are large, but only five. I hadn't eaten all day and though that I would have to order something else. But because the sauce is so rich, I was full off of that. It was delicious, I highly recommend if it is still on the menu. Since it has the restaurant's name in the dish, I would assume it is.

My friend went to the new one a few weeks ago and that's what she ordered and said it was excellent.

i ALWAYS get the shrimp paesano - yeah it's just 5 shrimp, but they are big, dripping in a butter/garlic sauce, comes with a side of pasta and a great house salad - very filling :smokin

my partner usually gets the center cut tenderloin with pizzaiola sauce

That's it? My friends always make it seem like its fucking Ruth's Cris and shit. I guess since they're used to going to Floyds, spending $10 and not getting 20 burgers seems like a rip off! :lol

Is Do Brazilia still open?

The new Paesano's makes the other two look like Chili's. The view is great. Its the same owner as my restaurant and Zuni, and a lot of work and money was put into the new place. Go check it out, seriously, it's incredible.

Sometimes you want that quality. Most big cities are more expensive anyway.

But I would rather be eating a nice dinner in Turin Italy after watching the winter games.. Now that would be some italian..

Or eat at Paesanos' and watch the games (olympics) at the bar tv lol.

My dad's been going there for 20+ years (I remember going back when it was a little hole in the wall place with practically no light inside) just to get the shrimp Paesano - every time we visited SA from Houston, the family knew that's where we were going (same with Austin and Matt's El Rancho for the Shrimp a la Matt Martinez).

There's actually a place in Houston called Nick's Pasta on Bellaire Blvd that has a shrimp dish that tastes almost exactly like the Shrimp Paesano, and the rest of their food is just like Paesano's as well - down to the garlic bread and spaghetti sauce.

Another place to consider is Pompeii on Nacogdoches just south of Loop 1604. While I love shrimp paesano's, they have the same thing called shrimp pompeii's. They put 6 shrimp on the plate and it is a challenge to eat it all.It is also a little less expensive than Paesanos. I recommend it!

I have a hard time believing anything can beat Bravo's at La Cantera.

Standing outside (in the freezing cold), I would have happily gotten full off the smell alone.
