OK, now let's have you red-state, right-wing dubya-suckers list, in all seriousness, just 10 accomplishments by dubya/dickhead/Repugs for the USA and world.

I know this is an unfair challenge you can't possibly meet, but it will be amusing to see you lie and spin on God-forsaken dubya's behalf.

50 of the greatest achievements of George W Bush:

1. I attacked and took over two countries. - The USA took over two countries ? Did we annex them yet ? Are they paying taxes ? DOes their GNP figure into our economy ?
Pure stupidity -- this is an asenine comment - Rather. we responded to an attack on American Soil accordingly and liberated a nation from a brutal dictator. IDIOT -

2. I spent the US surplus and bankrupted the US treasury. Not to mention I restarted an economy shattered by 9/11 and corrupt organizations ..i.e. Enron - MCI that thrived during William Jeffersons run as President. The dow hovers around 11,000 and I was forced to bail out airlines etc from bankruptcy -- again due to 9/11

3. I shattered the record for the biggest annual deficit in history (not easy) -- war time -- war time -- see above

4. I set an economic record for the most personal bankruptcies filed in any 12 month period. -- because a law was passed to try and stop these ridiculous BK filings by people who "legally" steal thousands of dollars in merchandise and monies costing the rest of the honest people of this country tons of money to cover for their lack of integrity -- a law that spurred record BK filings up until it was in place in October 2005 - of course you don't want to mention that in your spin -

5. I set all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the stock market. - and now it is back to 11,000 --- oh not to mention Bush didn't do this - radical muslims did this by flying planes into buildings and killing americans.

8. In my first year in office I set the all-time record for the most days on vacation by any president in US history (tough to beat my dad's, but I did). - get the job done and go on vacation.

9. After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, I presided over the worst security failure in US history.-- oh yeah I authored it - I helped facilitate it too right ? Bush knew - he knew and allowed it to happen - Bush also put explosives in the world trade center and imploded the building at his discretion. -- This should read he responded to the worst attack on american soil in history -- an attack that was facilitated by the ACLU and WILLIAM JEFFERSONS failures as commander in cheif because he was too busy rolling around with fat, ugly chicks in the bathroom.

10. I set the record for most campaign raising trips by any president in US history.-- and ? You hate him for taking a vacation and now you hate him for working ?

11. In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their jobs. and what followed ???? tell the whole story-- why did this happen -- oh yeah 9/11 - you anus.

12. I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any other president in US history. Good thing - I wish we would cut out all the entitlements - Note to all you socialists -- hean north to your haven -- socialists rejoice OH CANADA -- and have a safe trip !!

13. I set the all-time record for most real estate foreclosures in a 12-month period. - Wow - Bush did this -- he caused foreclosures ? or maybe it was due to inflated appraisals and scams people fell for buying houses they couldnt afford - and this all happened during...............williams jeffersons reign ..

14. I appointed more convicted criminals to administration positions than any other president in US history. so? How many folks did william jefferson pardon when he left office to keep all of his illegal affairs quiet ?

15. I set the record for fewest press conferences of any president since the advent of TV. - Too busy working -

16. I presided over the biggest energy crisis in US history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed. - And had I intervened the liberals, secular progressives and socialist idiots of this great country would have cried because I was exercising my power - dominon over the people - that evil bush adminstration

17. I signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any other US president in history. - definitely needed to be done see: 9/11

18. I cut health-care benefits for war veterans.

19. I set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously take to the streets to protest me (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any one person in the history of mankind. - There are that many idiots and stupid people in the world ? - of course this record will be broken over and over again since there are 1 billion muslims in the world -

20. I dissolved more international treaties than any president in US history. - damn straight - hopefully he will withdraw from the weakest and most corrupt organization on the planet -- the UN

21. I've made my presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in US history. In accordance with the constitution and to improve efforts to fight terror.

22. Members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in US histiry (the poorest multimillionaire, Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her).
hate him for being successful ? - boy imagine if John Kerry was in there with all his HEINZ millions from theresa.

23. I am the first president in US history to have all 50 states of the union simultaneously struggle against bankruptcy. propaganda and bs lies - - this thing is full of them -- did you pull all of these myths out of your anus and try to pass them off as facts ?

24. I presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud in any market in any country in the history of the world. -- rather I was the unlucky soul in office at the time these corporations folded when they thrived under william jefferson

25. I am the first president in US history to order a US attack and military occupation of a sovereign nation, and I did so against the will of the United Nations and the vast majority of the international community. - The UN ? the UN ? - the most corrupt organization in the world ??? finish this sentence and stop spinning things.... Let it be known that those who opposed this attack, france, russia etc.. were later proven to be part of the oil for food scam run through and by the UN and the leaders of these respective nations of cowards received millions of dollars from SADAAM

26. I have created the largest government department bureaucracy in the history of the US. and?

27. I set the all-time record for biggest annual budget spending increases, more than any other president in US history (Reagan was hard to beat, but I did it!!!)-- 9/11 -- katrina - I thought you guys wanted entitlements and hand outs ?

Pure stupidity -- this is an asenine comment - Rather. we responded to an attack on American Soil accordingly and liberated a nation from a brutal dictator. IDIOT

Governor Bush campaigned against nation-building. The response in Afghanistan was a measured response, however, the war in Iraq was not. The war in Iraq was an objective of this administration long before September 11, 2001. My source from that is "Bush at War" and "Plan of Attack" by Bob Woodward.

10. I set the record for most campaign raising trips by any president in US history.-- and ? You hate him for taking a vacation and now you hate him for working ?

The President of the United States has many roles - leader of his party is not in the job description. Campaigning is work, but Governing is his job. The difference is all the difference in the world.

12. I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any other president in US history. Good thing - I wish we would cut out all the entitlements - Note to all you socialists -- hean north to your haven -- socialists rejoice OH CANADA -- and have a safe trip !!

I don't understand the aversion to taxes, and I don't understand why the line cannot be clearly drawn here. Free loaders off of compassion is the drawback of compassion. When it comes to government assistance, the less desperate people are, the less likely they are going to commit a violent crime. It's a matter of public safety to provide for the weakest links in our society. If someone freeloads off that safeguard, that's a consequence of a free society where most have a reasonable expectation of safety.

33. I refused to allow inspectors access to US prisoners of war and by default no longer abide by the Geneva Conventions. - WAR WAR WAR

The US has committed some atrocious acts in the name of war, and it's not the only country. War doesn't justify this, in fact, this document specifically lists how to treat your enemy in times of war. It's a document of humane treatment during war. If it's not followed during war, there's really no point to having the treaty.

45. I have created the most divided country in decades, possibly the most divided that the US has been since the Civil War. Actually -- the liberals have created this divide -- the secular progressives, aclu and those who want socilalism and hate this country -- as previously advised -- take your butt north to your ideal country. Liberals created this climate? I don't recall anyone else on this board claiming that standing against one man in a country of 300 million is un-American...except you. The George W. Bush profile on this site shouldn't be taken completely serious.

46. I entered office with the strongest economy in US history and in less than two years turned every single economic category heading straight down. -- let me see oh yeah 9/11 - 9/11 -- rapid corporate corruptions fostered and nurtured during the Clinton years --

It's a great political tactic - blame everything bad in the Bush administration on 9/11 and anything that can't be blamed on that date, blame on the previous administration. Neither President is responsible for the corruption of Enron and Worldcom. As the economy boomed in the 1990s, executives felt pressure to keep the good times rolling for their shareholders. When that stopped working, the companies went belly-up. It's unfair to charge either President with that scandal.

I would like to point out that this post you responded to, the profiler hasn't stated his political philosophy. He is obviously criticizing President Bush through satire, but he doesn't have a stated political belief.

I bring this up because I am an American before I am a Democrat. When I see something that is troubling and wrong for America, I say that before I spew the party line. If we're going to change the political climate in this nation, however small this internet message board is, let's listen to one another. It's too easy to dismiss an argument as pure rhetoric.

The entire list was pure rhetoric - and most of it was distorted information a la michael moore / dan rather.

the operation in afghanistan was a measured response to 9/11. The affair in Iraq , on going removed a brutal dictator from power. People like to point to WMD - which to me is still debatable. I mean they found thousands of tons of explosives and agents - the recent news from the Iraqi general also supports the theory that WMD was moved to Syria - and please do not forget that just about everyone -- clinton - kerry - russia - france - everyone agreed that IRAQ had WMD. EVERYONE.

HE campaigned for re-election. His job was to get elected again into office and that is what he did.

you don't understand what? You dont understand that I work hard for my money and want it to be mine instead of paying for entitlements for people who are fully capable of getting a job but fail to do so because they are lazy and know that the government will bail them out ? Entitlements and welfare programs promote laziness and the "victim" complex - they promote failure. This is a capitalist society - get used to it. Your words of public safety sound good in theory but have been proven as fallacies over and over again - head north good man - go live in canada if this is the sort of society you seek.

what atrocius acts did the US commit ? When you say US do you mean government or some irresponsible and ignorant soldiers on guard duty at a prison ? Define atrocious ?

I didnt call anything un-american -- but how can you blame bush for dividing a nation ? he has that much power? or does the liberal media and idiots like Howard Dean, John Kerry, Boxer, Jimmy Carter and the like created this problem with lies and half- or better yet - 10 - 25% truths?

neither president is responsible so that eliminates roughly half of the 25 ignorant comments on the authors post. satire or not - it is pure stupidity and causes further divide. IT is common practice for liberals to blame everyhing on Bush and look in the mirror and you might be one of the guilty party. Not to mention - god help us - should a democrat win the whitehouse in '08 -- one of the first speeches given will be to blame the problems on the previous administration and this will continue throughout the term - -politics right or left??

Exactly my point. You've painted your enemy before he's stated a political view.

This is true, the world believed he was pursuing Weapons of Mass Destruction. But that does not explain why the President would use questionable intelligence, rush the process of weapons inspections in his 11th-hour, half-hearted attempt to justify his use of military force. Why would President Bush need to exaggerate the case if it was so blatant?

It's horrific what has happened in Iraq, but it was horrific when he was gassing and torturing Kurds while practicing diplomatic relationships with the United States. I don't see President Bush rallying his freedom troops to topple any other dictators. If it was simply to liberate the people of Iraq, why would President Bush choose a time of fiscal restraint and uncertain challenges to commit the United States to the largest reconstruction effort since the end of World War II?

HE campaigned for re-election. His job was to get elected again into office and that is what he did.

No, his job is to serve the interests of the American people by protecting its borders, securing their welfare, and protecting the Constitution of the United States. Getting re-elected is a political life, not a President's. You need one to have the other, but they are not the same thing.

You dont understand that I work hard for my money and want it to be mine instead of paying for entitlements for people who are fully capable of getting a job but fail to do so because they are lazy and know that the government will bail them out ? Fine. I have no problem with your money being yours. Pave your own roads. Fix your own car. Fix your own house. Provide your own food. Provide your own medical care. Create your own entertainment. Install your own forms of communication.

I want to take my money and yours and create a mutually beneficial infrastructure for your kids and mine, and theirs. I want the best schools so this country can out-compete all the world in the race for discovery that will keep this country strong. I want to provide medical care for all our citizens so that you can walk down the street and not fear the germs of the person next to you. I want you to take as much pride in this country as I do and put your money where your mouth is. If you want to live in the Republic of implacable44, fine. But you can't have your cake and eat it too.

When the French toppled their monachs, it was done by poor peasants that couldn't afford a living wage.

I lived in a city - Pontiac, MI - once a chique place to live with much significant Michigan history. In fact, there's a governor's mansion within the city limits. Today, it has crime, failing schools, and *shocking* this change happened when the higher-end salaried employees, all white BTW, moved out of the city because of intergrated schools. Now, the government with an annual budget of 37 million dollars, has a 40 million dollar deficit it cannot afford to pay. The Mall - Summit Place - and the Silverdome - once home to the Pistons and Lions, even a Super Bowl at one point - both sit as monuments of debt. It's not safe to walk down the streets at night. I used to get off of work at about 1AM every night and take the 15-minute walk to home. Every other night I'd run into a person talking to themselves or asking me for money. My co-workers thought I was nuts.

Who do I see about that - the places and faces not on television, without a voice to speak out for them? How do we help them? This is where a new disease will spread like wildfire. It's in a place like this that someone can be stabbed. And if I showed you a chart of the average income per household, and the crime rate, it would be very similar.

Where's your proof it isn't true?

- head north good man - go live in canada if this is the sort of society you seek.

As a matter of fact, a conservative is now running Parliment for the first time in 30 years.

what atrocius acts did the US commit ? When you say US do you mean government or some irresponsible and ignorant soldiers on guard duty at a prison ? Define atrocious ?

atrocious: (Merrian Webster)

1: extremely wicked, brutal, or cruel. 2. appaling, horrifying. 3. a.) utterly revolting; abominable. b.) of very poor quality.

It's etymology is from latin - from the word atrox (gloomy, atrocious), ater (black) + -oc-, -ox (similar to Greek Ops eye).

I wasn't speaking specifically about the War in Iraq. The Geneva Convention was an attempt to curtail some of the atrocities of war. Among the black eyes of American cruelty - the imprisonment of American citizens in camps during World War II - an act that the United States offered an official apology and repiration money for.

An act we are again repeating in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

No, you simply told anyone who's spoken in opposition to get out of the country and head to Canada. And I don't hold Bush responsible for dividing this country. I hold idealogues responsible for making this a two-party country rather than a united country with different ways of thinking. But both sides seem to buy their party's rhetoric right down the line instead of just thinking for themselves. And when that happens, it's too easy to dismiss someone else's beliefs as rhetorical nonsense. I blame the politicans for creating a world cynical voters through fear and corruption dating back 30 years. Bush is just a commentary on how far the system has decayed.

neither president is responsible so that eliminates roughly half of the 25 ignorant comments on the authors post. satire or not - it is pure stupidity and causes further divide.

It's common rhetoric for both sides to sling mud. I suggest you read the highlighted sentence and continue reading your hypothetical. It is the definition of irony.

No, his job is to serve the interests of the American people by protecting its borders, securing their welfare, and protecting the Constitution of the United States. Getting re-elected is a political life, not a President's. You need one to have the other, but they are not the same thing.

As a matter of fact, a conservative is now running Parliment for the first time in 30 years.

atrocious: (Merrian Webster)

No you are taking it to one extreme - Pave my own roads? I pay tolls everytime I get on the freeway and pay income, property and sales tax to the government to run these programs / services. Why would I pay increased taxes for entitlements for some lazy clown who doesn't want to work but prefers a hand out ? I do put my money where my mouth is with all the taxes I pay and donations I make - dont tell me your sad songs or preach to me about the service you perform for the less fortunate because I and others do too -- difference is we dont feel the need to broadcast it -- figures you are from michigan -- got lots in common with another michaginite. Emtitlements promote weakness and failure - what makes this country strong is the competition and work ethic created by the efforts of its citizens. Working americans who make their own way and who shouldn't have to pay for others who refuse to work and contribute to make this nation great -- to create the stories of rags to riches that make this country strong. Entitlements are for the weak and detract from a persons character traits. I am fully aware of Canada and its politics - the country is still socialist.

We arent the French and we wont be toppled by poor peasants as the unemployment rate is below 5%.

I can show you the same things in Canada - France =England - there are poor desperate people everywhere -- stabbings occur - the average income per household is around $50k last I checked -

you already stated the opposite point of view - so why would i need to repeat it ? there is no irony - i was showing that it is a two-way deal where the poster only makes one-sided attacks that you defend.

My point is to stop thinking about this in two opposing viewpoints when we are Americans. This American at least, isn't trying to make the Democratic Party the strongest party in the World, it's trying to make the United States the strongest, most competitive, and most productive in the world.

-I didnt paint anyone - he painted himself with his post.

I wish you could see how many assumptions were made about where his opinion was coming from. By saying he's distorting information a la Dan Rather and Michael Moore, you've painted him as a liberal when he may not be one. He may not have a political offilation. He may just not like George W. Bush. He may be an independant. He may just be going for a cheap laugh. There are more than two ways to think, and criticism from President Bush doesn't have to come from from a liberal or a Democrat.

I dont know -- why would he ? what conspiracy theory do you have up your sleeve ? was it for oil ? was it because sadaam tried to kill his father ?

I don't have a conspiracy theory. What I do know from human behavior, is when some lies or rushes to judgement to justify an action, it's something that person wants to do and is trying to stop any opposition from speaking out. The only justification I could see for that, in his job, is a Clear and Present Danger to the security of the United States, and Saddam's Iraq was not. I don't know why he went to war, but I don't believe it was to liberate the people of Iraq or to secure the United States and the fact those two ideas have been put forth to justify the war casts a suspicious eye on his actions. Meanwhile, there's a growing economic problem in this country, 2,400 US troops lost, and 35,000 Iraqis dead in the face of this war.

well - he doesnt protect the border-- activist liberal judges are destroying and re-writing the constitution and he needed to get re-elected.

No, he doesn't protect the borders of this country, on that we can agree. However, how are liberal judges destroying the Constitution? Can you give me an example to work with here?

No you are taking it to one extreme - Pave my own roads? I pay tolls everytime I get on the freeway and pay income, property and sales tax to the government to run these programs / services. You didn't need entitlements? So your family never benefitted from Social Security? The GI Bill?

Letting Americans pull themselves up by their bootstraps is how this country fell into its darkest economic times. Overfarmed flatlands of the breadbasket led to soil that was useless, especially with a four-year drought. The breadbasket became the dust bowl. Now we pay farmers to not farm during certain seasons and rotate crops. This means we subsidize farmers, and those subsidies help keep the price of food low. That's an entitlement and every American since 1935 has benefitted.

Social Security was started because so many Americans were out of work with no savings. Those young enough could be re-trained for jobs, but those who were too old to spend another 20 years in a new job, needed some assistance.

Funding for the arts, the WPA - all of this moved the economy away from the depression. A World War where every American became a freedom fighter - in factories, by conserving, by donating to the frontlines - all things we no longer do. The most damning part of the global movement away from this country in manufacturing jobs is their will be a limited workforce to build warplanes and tanks if we ever need those things again. Our military weapons are made overseas.

I don't tell sad stories to tell you how bad my life has been, it's actually been very good. I've never gone to bed hungry, or been without a home. The difference is, I want you to know that when I speak on entitlements, I don't speak from some book or statistic. I speak from experiences. It's much easier to dismiss a statistic. It's very easy to paint all entitlement programs as a useless crutch. But the truth of the matter is, this isn't a product of a lazy culture, it's a product of a successful one. The lazy culture is the horse, not the cart.

And what does this mean - 'you remind me of another michiganite?' Michigan is a part of this country you love, too. I could make some obscene reference to the south and Fox News and racism as an excuse for your opinions, but the fact of the matter is, I deal with what you tell me. I don't assume I know you.

...to create the stories of rags to riches that make this country strong. Entitlements are for the weak and detract from a persons character traits.

I understand the "give a man a fish" philosophy, and I believe that. But if you're willing to say: "My money is my money" when it comes to entitlements, why do I have to pay for a war I don't believe in?

Assuming the true reason is the liberation of the Iraqi people, a large assumption on my behalf, why do my tax dollars have to go to rebuilding their roads and bombing their oppressors, when the concerns of this nation, in my opinion, haven't been met?

Why am I un-American (or a wannabe Canadian) for wanting to help the opressed in this country, and you're just a hard-working patriot for supporting this war?

I believe that people taught a skill is worth more to them and us than people receiving a handout. But I also believe that a society is only as strong as its weakest links in the chain.

We arent the French and we wont be toppled by poor peasants as the unemployment rate is below 5%.

My point is desperate people act out to change their plight. It's not today I worry about

I can show you the same things in Canada - France =England - there are poor desperate people everywhere -- stabbings occur - the average income per household is around $50k last I checked -

I have never, ever, seen that much money in my household, and I'm not the poor one on my block. It's not the ordinary Americans I worry about - it's the people the ordinary Americans walk by every day, and trying to make sure that not only are those fringes taken care of, but their plight doesn't become ordinary.

[QUOTE=implacable44]Thanks for the Webster cut and paste - I asked what it meant to you -- what is your definition. When we imprisoned the Japanese folks in WW2 as a result of the war with Japan - that is your definition of atrocious ?

My definition is an overzealous, paranoid, and egregious act committed in the heat war. Something that is the proverbial "black eye."

Correction: We did not imprison Japanese. We imprisoned American citizens who looked like the Japanese, Chinese, and any other Orient country. Pope John Paul II thought this was a crime, and officialy, so does the United States Government. Not because it's the worst thing that can be done to a human being - far from it. But we are not a moral authority if we look around the world and say "see, it's not so bad."

an act we are repeating in Cuba ? those are innocent folks out there huh ?

In this country, our citizens our innocent until proven guilty, not vice versa, no matter the public opinion. While the majority of those detained in Cuba are foreign-born, not all of them are. So yes, we are doing it again. The assumption of imminent danger and guilt of those detained is what justified the camps on the west coast during World War II.

So that is what Bush represents to you ? Do Kerry, Dean, Clinton, Kennedy and the like represent the same to you ?

No: none of them represent that. Let's remember I just ripped Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the Champion of the New Deal I love so much, for committing an "atrocious" act in times of war. The bases of their parties, the people who follow what they say and don't support a single moderate, the people who respond to demonizing the opposite party as evil - those are the people I hold responsible. Those interests that are pouring money into the pockets of these candidates, sometimes in both, in order to wield power. If the candidates weren't supported, they wouldn't be governing right now.

Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush are perhaps the most moderate Presidents we have seen since Eisenhower. The more appropriate comparision across the aisle to George W. Bush is Dennis Kucinich, not John Kerry.

I see activist liberal judges with an agenda distorting the law - secular progressives trying to remove any hint of diety from daily life

This is the example? It was a conservative Christian movement that led to the prohibition of alcohol. They felt that sin - infidelity, murder, gambling - was tied to the consumption of alcohol. If we could get that out of the hands of Americans, we would be better off. That's an activist.

I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school for the first seven years of my education, and public school for the other six. In my time in public school, I prayed over every meal. I carried one of those small crosses in my pocket to get me through tough days. I even had friends who would question me about my faith.

One of my friends was raised in a non-denominational church. His mother and father were former Catholics, and one night over at his house, they asked me to lead them in saying grace. I started to say the prayer I said over every meal - the traditional Catholic prayer. I don't think I got to "Bless us, O Lord" before this 39-year-old man interrupts me infront of his wife, my friend, and my friend's bother and says: "Don't you feel restricted by the words always being forced in your mouth?"

I responded: "No."

He said: "Well, at our church, we can pray whatever way we want to."

Today, I would've said "Good for you" and moved on. At that time, feeling that it was my responsibility to explain myself, I said "Because it's not like I'm reciting a recipe. These words mean something." He responded "All right" and decided to lead the rest of the prayer.

My point is, not everyone believes the same thing, even within Christian churches. In my house, when someone asked you to say grace, that's how you responded. In that friend's house that night, I was committing a treasonous act, an act I was probably set up for. If I had been older than 13, he problably would've kicked me out of his house for saying that prayer.

So when the Ten Commandments are exhibitioned outside a courthouse, what Ten Commandments do we display? We can't agree within our religion over what God wrote to Moses:

Example: 1st Commandment
Hebrew
"1. I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery."
Catholic
"1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me."
Protestant
"1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

This is perhaps the most agreeable Commandment between the religions.

By posting a combination of these three, it's an insult to each. By posting one version or the other, we are recognizing one form of the Bible as the official one of the Federal Government.

"Under God" is a recent addition to the Pledge of Allegiance. It was added to distinguish the United States from godless Communism. To me, this is laughable. It's a wedge issue to get people all lathered up and come to the polls.

People making a big deal out of striking "Under God" makes about as much sense to me as rioting over a cartoon. I respect both for their beliefs, but it seems like an overrreaction. This is like a baseball fan voting for a politican because they favor the pitch-hitter over the designated hitter.

I have my creed and it's not the Pledge: it's called the Nicene Creed.

I see the ACLU and others who hate this country and want to make it a socialist society for whatever reason they may have.

I don't. American Civil Liberties Union. Their sworn mission is to defend the rights of American citizens, and protect the Bill of Rights. With the world connecting through technology in cell-phones, on-line shopping, and using automated identification devices like Credit Cards, Library Cards, and any other personal identification - All of this new technology that tracks the movements of our citizens makes the issue of our court system a re-definition of the parameters of privacy.

It's against the law to hack into Paris Hilton's blackberry and steal her personal information, but it's not legal for the Federal government to track what books I am taking out of the library. I agree with the ACLU that we should expand the right to privacy to include this information, the current administration thinks it's okay as long as they are at the controls because they will never abuse the power.

I see racial tensions across the board

Same here. You can't have a country that's shaped by 500 years of slavery and opression of the ruling class - white males - and expect to wake up 40 years later and think all the problems are fixed.

I see a president fighting a way on terror and there have been no incidents in 4+ years on american soil.

I don't think one equals the other. I think the situation with Katrina proves that the Department of Homeland Security doesn't yet know how to handle such a large disaster. Since September 11th, we have had anthranx delievered through the mail, we've had countless incidents where the media has reported the security holes at the Airports. We have a 9/11 Commision saying the United States isn't ready yet.

I see the War against Terror and the War in Iraq as two competing forces, not a part of the same plan. Our nuclear plants remain unsafe from the same type of attack that brought down the World Trade Center and one wing of the Pentagon. I see a Mexican/American border where it's too easy to fly to Mexico, and enter this country illegally with a dirty nuclear bomb or a biological agent. We're not safer today than before September 11th, despite the War on Terror being the centerpiece of the Bush administration's agenda.

I see an administration...spend(ing) entirely too much money - most of the money going to entitlements and to bail out people who cant - excuse me dont and / or wont take care of themselves.

I think the hole in the American pocketbook is the War in Iraq.

I see people wanting to rebuild new orleans and make it a chocolate city. Are you kidding me ? rebuild New Orleans ? I see too - far too many people who have forgotten 9/11 and that there are millions muslim extremists who want you dead or converted to Islam -- no other option.

I see people unfairly criticizing Ray Nagin for using the term Chocolate City, when he campaigned using the phrase and it didn't cause a stir. His point was not that the city should be all black, but that all the races to should work together to form a new kind of city - a new kind of definition. Chocolate is not the darkest hue of black.

I think that too many people don't understand the significance of being relocated. I think it's a natural reaction to want to re-build your house or your city where it once stood. I think it's the same reaction to building a memorial to the Twin Towers in New York City. I think armed with the proof that it will destroy the city, those wanting to re-inforce the levees will not be called 'alarmists.' The government, hopefully, will not waste the opportunities they have in the past to make their city safe. Asking a city that has survived almost 500 years from a the time of a french fur trading port to today to give up hope they can rebuild is as short-sighted as the people who never took the time to consider something like this could happen.

I want you to look back through this post. I have never responded to GWB. I never took a cheap shot at this administration. The only responses on here are to your responses to him. When I didn't like what he was saying, I waited for the post to die.

Dude,

i have no time to rag on you, but stuff like this is what fuels the michael moore generalization of conservatives on liberals.

This attack is cheap, seeing how the president couldnt have any impact if he directly micro managed it.

People need to realize that the pres does not have a batwing to escort him to his batcave where he gets behind a massive network and dons his cape to save the day.
