Spurs have found more than cohesion and monentum [sic] on their Rodeo Road Trip. They've also found the old Manu, who sure looked like his All-Star self in Indy.

Yeah, it's regular season and all that, and hopefully SA doesn't do what Dallas did the other night (e.g. lose).

Back in Black
I hit the sack
I been too long
I'm glad to be back
Yes, I'm dead loose
from the noose that's kept me hanging around.
I'm just, uh, livin' on the side 'cause it's gettin' me high,
forget the hearse cause I never die.
I got nine lives, cat's eyes,
each and evry one of them is wondrin why,
cause I'm back!
Yes, I'm back!
Mama, I'm Back!
Yes, I'm back!
Well, I'm back, back.
Well, I'm back in black, yes I'm back in black! Ow!

Of their past 9 straight wins, 3 have come against teams with a record above .500. It's been a good stretch of the schedule to find their health and develop some consistency, but it's going to take more than that to win in June.

yathink?

I do not think any Spurs fan will say that the Spurs have played to their potential yet, so it is a given that the Spurs will be much better come May.

The spurs look bad to us and are on pace to win 65-66 games (65.6 actually).

That's pretty crazy considering how hurt they have been.

So why the excitement? Let me know when this team doesn't get outrebounded and smoked by the Pistons.

Excellent. The team really is beginning to come together, with the finishes of the last two games as excellent examples. They hung around without getting rattled, made the clutch plays and pulled them through like champions.

Of course, I'll be thrilled when they play the entire game that way and stop giving up big leads and making it harder on themselves.

But yes, the rodeo trip is living up to it's history and they are starting to nudge up the level and consistency of their play. It's fun to watch.

We don't get smoked by the Pistons when Manu, our second best player, is actually playing in the game.

We'll get ours when it counts.

Anybody else notice Pop mentioning a couple of times on his show that he likes close games during the regular season - the confidence that comes from winning them? Last year he "complained" about all of the blowouts - that it wasn't doing anything preparing the team for the playoffs.

Whenever the Spurs get decent leads, he messes with the lineup - likes to keep the games in the 4 - 8 pt. range; and he LOVES to have it neck and neck w/about 3 minutes left. I think this "struggling" against lesser teams is by design - and it seems to be working; this team finishes like no Spurs team since '99.

The guy that does the CNNSI power rankings still picks the Spurs to win it again even though he has Detroit on top. It's only because of there regular season performance so far. The stats. But his gut says Spurs.

We better declare a week of fiesta if we win one more time. It's time to party like it's 1999... hopefully..

I think tomorrow night is a going to be a defining game for the rest of the season as far as the Pistons go...

They have just come off a loss, after giving up a huge 4th quarter lead, and going against a pretty good Nets team...

I think this is their "crunch" game where we see if they are for real or just have been pretenders to the throne...

If they drop this one to the Nets, I look for it go downhill from there... They still have to play Cleveland, who has beaten them, 3 more times and Miami twice...Not to mention Dallas who spanked them last meeting.. They don't have a very easy road the rest of the season...

Suddenly no one is looking to hand the HCA, like they were a couple of weeks ago...

That didn't last long, Pistons back on top.

1. Pistons - Questions about whether four Pistons were worthy of All-Star invites should have been answered when they, and Paul Pierce, outplayed the West All-Stars late in the third.

2. Dallas- The Mavs could meet the Spurs as early as the second round of the playoffs, based on the current playoff seeding scenario

3. Spurs- Say what you want about Duncan's game, as McGrady joked post-game Sunday, but Spurs fans know how effective that boring game is come May and June.

I'm not sure if its a Pop ploy, but the team is certainly moving closer to the 99 team in its ability to finish and close the deal. I was thinking about that in one of the close games recently when I suddenly realized we were behind in the fourth quarter--but I wasn't upset. I knew we were going to close on them with defense and take the win. And we did.

Regular season, so it doesn't matter, but I believe we beat you by the same margin, in your building, when you had Manu. 83-68 on Jan 12. 85-70 at the Palace with *out* Manu.

The reason the 4 Pistons outplayed the West is because the West wasn't even taking the game serious you could tell. The 4 Pistons and Pierce were out there playing like if it was a championship game while the West was pretty much just running through the motions.

It doesn't matter who beat who in the regular season.
