Pop yanked him pretty quickly tonight.

He's back at the 4:20 mark. Pop must have been pissed about his early defense.

He was owned by Iggy the first two possessions.

Pop needs to bench Manu. This is the worst I have ever seen him play.

Manu is already on a beach somewhere for All-Star weekend.

this was a good message to him
it also tells the whole team pop is not afraid to yank a starter out
rember tp played like crap and sat out the last few minutes in a game and he came back strong

hopefully manu will to

So you're saying he lacks focus and will hurt the team thinking about the beach??

All the more reason to trade him.

Maybe in a year or two, you people will see why...

He's got 7, but only has 4 points on 2-10 shooting and 4 fouls.

Of course you didn't deserve to be an All-Star!!

Duh, Manu.

Manu played like a trash in this game, I see POP asking to many different thing that he obviuosly is trying to do, in the othe hand he made 8/9 assts which is good, but I call this a very bad game for Manu

Sportman
02-16-2006, 09:26 AM
Hey what the hell are you talking about???............COME ON..........all the team had a very awful game, maybe except for NAZR. But TIM was a bad game too and tony, as always dissapeared in the important moments of the game. I think a lot of people is saying stupid things, this was just a BAD GAME and thatīs all. Did you forget how manu played against Indiana the last sunday??......CALM DOWN PEOPLE.

It is easy to understand if you know about basketball, you just tell me how many points did tony and tim score in the last 5 minutes of the game and in the OT??........just tell me that, who cares how many points you can make during the all game, the great players appear in the last minutes and manu did that, with the difference this time he couldnt get good results, THATīS MY POINT, and thatīs all, dont try to say now that manu is the worst player of the world (I dont especially refer to you), it was just a game.

Joepa
02-16-2006, 11:12 AM
It's not a matter of not understanding basketball. It's a matter of not understanding what you were saying because you didn't make a clear point due to a fragmented sentence.

But now I get what you are saying. And I agree, the great ones take over in the last minutes, and that didn't happen last night.

WalterBenitez
02-16-2006, 11:25 AM
What I see IMO NAZR, TP (except turnoevers), BBowen played good, TD has one of those games hard to say, but he didn't played bad, about MANU ... 8/9 assts, tried to make a lot in the final minutes, more with heart than head.

But people those games where SPURS LOSE instead of being defeated are hard to accept

Manu is not ever going to be in the doghouse. His personality does not clash with the Pop.

Why do noobs keep insisting our best players like blow shit out by playing too hard when they need to heal up?

Put your temporary greed aside and wait for the Playoffs. The BIGGER greed is another trophy.

Some noobs that wants to push best players to breaking point and beyond before playoffs is exactly that. A clueless noob that is new to the grind of a long NBA season.

Did you see the game?

Manu missed most of his shots. 3-16 is not a good game even if he had 8 assists. He played with heart but that is the norm, not the exception. He was more careless and out of control than normal.

I'm amazed it's me who has to point this out to you. where's TPark, MB, or chump when you need them :lol

Hey I am not justifying the fact manu was A BAD GAME, thatīs clear, but i am disgusted because i can see a lot of people who are blaming manu, when at least he was the only spur player to struggle for winning the game. Tony directly dissapeared in the last minutes and well tim tried to do the best, too.

Manu played like crap. If any other Spur played their best or worst game ever is not the point. The point is Manu played terrible. Simple as that.

I don't know if Manu played terrible. Did we lose the game because Manu played terrible? No. Because everyone played terrible especially in the 4th.

Sportman - Tony didn't disappear. He explained in the postgame that after the 3rd quarter they wanted to run the offense through Manu and Tim -- there wasn't much he could do about that.

Manu wasn't in the doghouse, but he was just getting destroyed defensively early on. That's why he got pulled out.

Sometimes you eat the bear; sometimes the bear eats you.

Manu just had a game where his normal play didn't work and the shots didn't fall. He was even erratic on FTs at the end where he is usually deadly. Are we gonna forget about his heroics just the other night--or are we gonna be true fans and tell him we know he's a great player and will do better another night?

has he been trying to hard to show that he also should've gone to the all star??? trying too hard, making too many mistakes

I don't know about Pop's doghouse, but I think I called him a stupid idiot quite a few times last night. Everyone has bad nights and Manu is no exception, but instead of focusing on the things he was doing well, he was trying to force shots. I'm glad that Finley stepped up a bit, but it's scary how we can't really depend on our bench for offense right now. Like I said, everyone has bad nights and we need that bench to step when someone like Manu can't hit the side of a barn.

I think it's kind of funny that we are so used to Manu playing well, playing consistently, always hitting at least 45% of his shots every game, and dominating down the stretch, that any time one of those things doesn't happen, people get upset about it.

The guy is human, give him a break. At least he tries and he refuses to give up while he's out there. I will support and root for any San Antonio Spur Pop puts out on the court, but no matter how well Tony plays, I still won't trust him fully until he does it consistently in the playoffs. In both Finals Tony played, he had to be bailed out for major portions of games by the backup PG (first Speedy, then Brent). Manu has delivered in the playoffs consistently. He is the only guy on our team besides Horry who gets better and better, the more the games matter, except he doesn't act like a complete scrub for five months first.

Until Tony can play as well in May and June as he does in the reg season, and until his FTs are above 75%, the 4th quarters will belong to Manu, and that's that.

The point is if Manu hadn't played like shit the whole game and missed a bunch of wide open shots, we wouldn't have been in the position to lose at the end.
