Actually it does matter to get all the dripping out gas you can. Otherwise it will just be wasted (evaporation). Sometimes you can get a little extra lifting up the tube too.

Considering that a car runs on fumes, 2 drops won't make a difference. But lifting up the hose does work though.

I find if I add a pint of the good stuff to my tank, it thins out the mix, and gives me an extra 25 miles to the tank full. Speaking of tank I havent seen by scotch drinking friend here lately. Is anyone aquainted with him?

I shake the pump just so i don't get any gas on the outside of the gas door not to get those extra drops. I hate when it runs down the side of my paintjob.

I have a similar analogy as to why I only can put the pump nozzle half-way down the tank opening.

My point is, with gas pumps, the shaking DOES make a difference. And to be honest, I'd rather not catch the last few drops in my pants, or car, if I can avoid it.
