The Slam Dunk Contest or the All-Star game itself.

The end of All Star weekend. ASW is the basketball equivalent of Boss's day or Secretary's day: a totally made up event that matters not much.

It depends. This years dunk comp was simply amazing. Some years the All-Star game is crap -- 2002, 2004 to an extent, 2005 as well, but some years it is brilliant 2000,2001,2003.

I expect them to be pretty even. Look at the exciting players playing in the AS game: LeBron, Kobe, McGrady, Wade, Carter, Marion as well as the skilled big guys Duncan, Garnett, Nowitzki along with the quick guards Parker, Nash, Arenas, Iverson. Should be a fantastic game.

Yeah, but it's cool to see Tim looking as if he enjoys his chosen profession.

I used to like the game way better when you had Kidd on the West throwing alley-oops to Garnett, Bryant, Duncan, and Shaq the whole first quarter, but it's become a lot less exciting with overrated Rockets taking 2 starting spots every year. At least one of them isn't Francis anymore.

Gotta be the game Flip drops four Pistons in and the west throws five seven footers in.

they are boring now because of the rule changes, like now the dunk contest is only 2 rounds instead of 3 or atleast in the past they got more dunks per round

Good question. When the basketball world's best get together to entertain, it's an event that's fun to watch. I don't care for any of the Sat. events except the Slam Dunk contest. This year, I may DVR the ASG on Sunday and watch it if I have time.

The game.

As for the dunk contest:
I wish they would have more competitors, at least one more round, and best 2 scores of 3 per person per round. I've always thought having former players as judges was a problem and hard for it to be fair, lower the rim 3 inches, holding up paper scorecards is cheesy.

The biggest problem is that if they get rid of unlimited chances to dunk, players will not be as likely to try more spectacular dunks, as we saw tonight. So, I'm on the fence on this one. Should Nate be penalized because he was trying much more difficult dunks than Iggy?

As wierd as this may sound, a game of horse might be kinda fun to watch.......nahhhh....what am I thinking. They tried and ruined the contest with that lousy "wheel of fortune" dunk thing a couple of years ago.
