Parker and Ginobili both sucked in their All-Star debuts. It's cool that they got there. But both last year with Manu and this year with Tony, I felt like they were out of their league during the games. I guess that's a testament to the Spurs system.

I agree with Ginobili but I dont think thats true for Parker. He did parker things whenever he wanted...he got into the lane before they packed it in (NOONE ddrove the lane successfully)....he just tried to make to many flashy passes, and all of his good passes did not come up with assists

First time in the ASG is a big adjustment for most players. Just consider how out-of-place TP and Gino looked at times in their first year in the L ...

I agree. I was just making a statement. I'm not bashing them. This game doesn't mean anything in the scheme of things.

And Manu and Tony both seemed to really enjoy/relish the experience of All-Star weekend and appreciate being there.

he's already got more money than he knows what to do with. he should learn from kg what a gigantic contract can do to your title chances. coca-cola inc (sprite, powerade) and nike should have his coffers full indefinitely.

According to datebaseBasketball.com (http://www.databasebasketball.com/players/playerpage.htm?ilkid=DUNCATI01), I didn't remember that either.

There's only been one year (last, when he only played 17 minutes) when he didn't grab at least ten boards. Even then, he got nine.

so how was the game? i didnt see much of it, other than Lebron dominating in the second half. it seemed like it must have been a good game... i heard the east were down like 25 and game back or something.

summary:

west had a dominating lead in the first half
third quarter lebron james and iverson totally cut that lead to one or two baskets

beginning of fourth quarter all 4 pistons are played and play close to basket, the west is chunking jumpers and playing 1 on 1 ball anyways, the announcers start proclaiming the Pistons so good that they locked down the west
fourth quarter east gets it to 11 point lead then west does a classic too little too late comeback riddled with shitty kobe dribbling
the backbreaker was hwen dirk missed a free throw, then west got an OR but whoever rebounded it foolishly threw up an off balanced fade away....that was when it was all downhill again

on the bright side we can all save many hours of our lives and not watch basketball anymore since its pretty clear the pistons will win the championship

i mean

any team whose 4 starters "can totally shut down" the west all stars has to be damn good huh?

hahaha. yea, i think the pistons are a hell of a team, but sometimes get too much credit. people sometimes forget that they are in the East. ive said it before, and i still think that if the Mavs or Spurs were in the East, they would win 70 games.

I'm surprised Duncan couldn't make the west all stars play like all stars, because we all know that's what some on this board says he does.

I disagree on that. The pistons are for real and are deserving of their record but I wouldn't say they are the best team in the league. Dallas, San Antonio, and Detroit are all tied imo and it could go to any of the 3. The second half of the season will decide who will take the lead.

It's funny, the Pistons are 21-3 against the West, and 21-6 against the East. The Spurs are 21-4 against the West, and 19-8 against the East. Both teams have a much easier time against the West. So your theory doesn't really hold up in real life.

Whats up stretch??

The Pistons are the best team in the league right now, they aren't full of superstars, either.
A sig of a great team is having a group of good players that come together collectively, and win a LOT of games doing just that. The sad thing is, there are only four elite teams in the NBA; #1:Detroit. #2 San Antonio. #3 Dallas. #4 Phoenix.

In the east, the Mavs And Spurs would probably win about 60-65 games, as a generalization, only because of the Back to back games they play. Teams hve to lose some time. Even Detroit loses to shitty teams like New Jersey, but that doesn't knock them down any. Winning 70 games, is a stretch. Only a few teams in history have done it and one of them/most of them have had a player by the initials M and J.

hows it going man.
i dunno. just IMO, i think that S.A. and Dallas could do better than the Pistons. Especially since Dallas has the deepest bench in the league, I really think that they could win 68-70 games if they were in the East. if the Spurs played to their potential, I think they could too.
