There's that team that won the NBA Championship last season.

I thought so, too, but reading the blurb above the poll, nothing would give notice to that fact.

All that really matters is that SI preseason curse. For your sake, I hope they didn't pick the Spurs. Luckily for us, I think they picked us to finish like 4th in the West...

The other funny thing is it says this right above the poll

"Make your predictions below and give it some thought because we'll remind you of your picks when the playoffs start! "

Maybe whoever made this poll should have given it more thought before he started this poll to be voted on.

Sorry to get here so late, but the life of the greatest sports analyst is a busy one. Now obviously some of you are up in arms over the fact (FACT!) that San Antonio is not going to repeat. Actually by the looks of the numbers they may not even make the playoffs. What no one bothered to tell you guys in Spursville is that the NBA is actually shifting the playoff system so that teams no longer win by actually playing, but instead they will voted for, much in the same way that the Oscars and seats in Congress are handed out. It's a system that I've favored for years, as clearly the people are ready to handle such an important decision. After all, they've been voting for my boys AI and the Big Fella for the All Star team for years, so they must possess at least the intellect to realize that I am 100% correct about their greatness; something that the hatas on this board can't begin to fathom. You might think this is unfair to the Spurs, but they have no one to blame but themselves. If they didn't this to happen they shouldn't have drawn such poor ratings in the finals last year.

Besides, this new system will actually do you a favor of not having to watch your Spurs get beat. Let's face it, how on earth can a team with Rasho Nesterovic possibly win a championship? I know that some revisionist NBA historians are going to come at me waiving their stats and trying to tell me that the Spurs won last year while Rasho was on the team. However we all know that the Heat won last year, securing Shaq's reputation as the most dominant force in the NBA. The Spurs and Pistons of course refused to acknowledge this, and staged a fake NBA finals, even going so far as to bribe high ranking officials at ABC and the NBA to allow it and making a fake Larry O'Brien trophy.

Now you may say to yourself why am I just hearing about this? Because Stephen A. Smith is the only journalist with enough street cred to tell it like it is. The bottom line is that ESPN is the world's finest news source and the people have spoken. No title for the Spurs and quite frankly, the world is better for it.

and you think they think a team who's known for choking when the real basketball session begins does?

CIA Pop has done it again. Now the Spurs are so low-key they don't even appear in the teams listing anymore. Noone even knows what conference they play in anymore!
