Look, I have both Manu AND Tim on my fantasy team that's struggling to make the playoffs, but Tim's playing a good overall game and seems to have a little more hop in his steps and Manu will be there when it's time.

Also, take pride in the fact that Nazr, Rasho AND Oberto are all playing well. I can take a little off-game from Manu once in a while for that trifecta playing better.

Parker usually does well in his one-on-ones v. Luke. They go at each other and neither plays that great a defense, particularly not Luke.

Oberto is setting great screens, 5 off. reb. a block, even a strip. His airball was due to getting shoved in the chest but the Spurs caught a break with the shot clock reset.

The Spurs are not clicking yet, though. They need much better movement.

I know that one game does not tell it all, but tonight my biggest fear came true about Nazr starting, and that is that Manu struggled. People do not realize how much Manu plays off of Rasho. How many times tonight did Manu get mauled in the lane when Nazr was in there whereas Rasho seals those guys off. Manu played completely differently in the second half when he was playing with Rasho and Oberto. I understand that Nazr plays best with Tim, and I know that playing Nazr with Oberto is a disaster waiting to happen. I get that it might be best for big men production to play Nazr with Tim and Rasho with Oberto, (Rasho often plays better without Tim because he has more room to work inside) but it is more important in my opinion that Tony and Manu play well, and I worry about all those minutes Manu is playing with Nazr. I am sorry, but Nazr played awful in the first half. He played 12 minutes and had a grand total of one rebound. No one would dare say Rasho was playing well with one rebound in 12 minutes. I also will say that Pop pulled his hair out on several occasions over things Nazr did on both ends of the floor, especially when Nazr started to dribble at the top of the key when the ball was just supposed to be swung around to the opposite side of the court. I am truly interested to see how this all plays out. Rasho ended up playing more minutes than Nazr tonight, even though Nazr started, and that even includes the 3 or so garbage minutes Nazr played. Rasho looked very comfortable coming off the bench- in terms of how he played- and the impact he made in that time. I think he could help stabilize the bench, especially defensively, with guys like NVE and Finley and Brent who aren't your defensive stalwarts. But like I said, I want to see Manu be able to play like Manu-- I think that is vital and I just don't know how effective he can be alongside Nazr. MAybe Tony will have to carry alot of the weight then and Manu can do his stuff in the minutes he plays with the bench guys.

Also curious for Friday night if the Spurs will have to make Tim cover Gasol.

Just my two cents.

Just my two cents.

It's a fair point that Rasho seals much better than Nazr but tonight, I thought Manu just didn't force the touches he had that much. He wasn't very aggressive. However, Manu didn't really get many touches to start with. It was mostly TP and Tim the first dozen trips or so before Manu sat. He may have touched the ball 3, maybe 4 times in his first stint.

Throughout the game, when Manu did work a few times (emphasis few) off the screen/roll, the Sonics were doubling off to him and leaving the screener wide open OR collapsing onto Manu's drives so the guy in the corner was wide open. The Spurs got all they could eat from the drive and kick tonight.

Enter Bruce Bowen.
