Recurring character on Law and Order as the defense attorney who always loses.

Note my ironic use of the word "defense."

Anyone got a better suggestion?

I thought Bob Hill did a nice job in SA. He earned his money, though '95 did hurt pretty bad because that team could have won it all. His comments after he was fired isn't a bid deal to me. Let bygones be bygones.

How much longer do you all think he will last in Seattle? My guess is that as soon as a suitable coach is axed he will be forced back into hiding.

I met Hill when I was in SA and thought he was by far the most aloof or arrogant inn a brief meeting abouta dozen NBA coaches (including Karl who is second) I have met in my life.

Also from my recall, there is more to this than meets the eyes - it is rumored that several players went to Pop and complained about him.

If he was still the coach the SAS would most likely not have Duncan still and may not have won a single championship. He is the one who keeps dragging up the mud - he would be a lot better served by taking the high road but like his team (and his at Fordham) it is seemingly a free fall sit rep in Seattle right now.

I really thought he would at least get them into a playoff run but last nights game looked from the few minutes I saw like an unispired team out there.

To go back to the original post question: Hill to me looks like the guy who should play the fired CEO from Enron or something in a movie.

The buzz on the street at the time was "He's lost the team." Every single person who ever coached David Robinson said he was one of the most coachable and easy-going people they'd ever met. He was the leader of the team. How in the hell do you "lose" a team led by David Robinson if your head is not up your butt?

Didn't Robinson disagree with the decision to fire Hill? I know Avery Johnson came out and said that a change was needed.
