Toronto up by 18 in the 2nd quarter .. shooting 58% from the field, and 7-9 on threes. Interesting.

Raps willl cool off, Mavs will prevail.
This happens much more often that it doesn't with the Mavs.

James and Villanueva are just torching the Mavs. Their defense is horrible today. Also, Jason Terry is a lunatic.

Toronto is shooting damn good but I don't expect it to last. The Mavs will regroup at the half and the lead will slowly disappear and the Mavs win in the end. But I'll still root for the Raptors to steal this one away.

Warlord23

Lead up to 20 now; 4 Raptors in double digits. The only concern right now is the foul count on the Toronto frontcourt (Davis 4, Villanueva 3). Looks like Dallas is stumped by the Raps' perimeter shooters so far.

Agreed. Bonner should've been nowhere near the floor during crunchtime today. He'd hoisted up an airball and missed all of his shots going into that last 3 he hit. I had no idea why he was on the floor, let alone hoisting up a game-tying 3-ball at that point. Mitchell just simply got outcoached tonight. Playing Bonner pretty much the entire 4th quarter and OT is simply inexplicable.

i live in the toronto area so i see a good share of raptors games but is mitchelll the right coach for these guys? i know a coach can't make a shot go in as thats up to the players but there have been SO many games this year where the raptors collapse that i'm thinking its more on poor coaching than it is on the players simply falling apart. i hope the raps can hang on to mike james, despite some late game blunders the dude is a stud

AD is not a perimeter defender. Dirk would have blown right by him for an easy layup or a foul at the least. With Charlie fouling out and Bosh being in foul trouble himself, Bonner was the next best option.

Well the spurs are a much more even team. In that they aren't as streaky as the mavs so usually they won't go down by 24. They got Duncan in the low post at all times so if they struggle getting a basket Duncan will be there. The mavs can score a ton of points in a short time. It will definitely be an interesting matchup March 2nd when they meet.

I'm a Mavs fan and I have to say that our team right now is on a tear. I guess losing to the Knicks lit a fire under our asses which has lasted up til now and could last longer. I think this could be the Mavs season because now we can play defense. There have been multiple times this season when we need some big time defense and we've got it. Against the Spurs it should be a lot easier than most teams because let's face it, ya'll aren't the best scoring team out there. I remember we did the same thing against the Suns that we did today. Down 17, won in double OT on opening night. We are a streaky defensive team right now, but Avery will turn it up in the postseason and force us to play tough defensively. I think this could be our year.

The Pistons and Spurs both know how to turn the defense up in the playoffs. The Mavs don't even know how to win in the playoffs much less play playoff defense. Until they do it I don't believe they can.

Hey the pistons play against the weak east. If the mavs played there they would be in the finals for the last 2 years. The pistons do matchup well with the spurs and everyone in the east but not with the mavs or suns. The spurs however matchup well with everyone except the pistons (ane maybe not the mavs). The pistons have gotten a free ride to test out their playoff experience while the west battles it out. We'll see this year what happens but this gets old about the mavs have no chance since they haven't done it before.

If the Mavs haven't proved that they can play some type of defense through the first 55 games of the season then you're Charles Barkley or not a basketball fan at all.

Dallas is quite good. Definite contenders as much as it pains me to say. They're modeling themselves in part on the Spurs just like the Spurs modeled themselves in part on the Jazz. It's intersting to see AJ mix the influences of Nellie and Pop on the court. Doing a fine job.

Same can be said for ya'll you let Toronto score 118. Ya'll must play NO defense.

Duncan didn't play that game...

File that in the "Reasons Why It Will Be a Crime If Duncan Retires Without Winning DPOY" folder.
