I wonder how many Mavs fans bought ducats on-line to this one.

I can't wait. The Spurs better not let me down. I have family in Dallas who will not let me hear the end of it if the Spurs lose.

You can still get tickets, though, if you want them (you'll have to pay inflated prices for them). StubHub has quite a few left; no tickets left on the Spurs ticket exchange, though.

I thought the playofs determined that. It's still too early to make bold calls like that. There is stil plenty of time till June.

I don't even care if the Mavs take 3 out of 4 from us this season. That's how the season series against the Suns ended last season and look what happened in the playoffs.

The Mavs need this game and their fans really need this one. For the Spurs, it doesn't matter. It's an early March game for Chrissakes! But I digress. The Mavs need this one because they've been playing good ball but haven't had the validation that they are really a serious contender. Mavs fans need this so that the reality of another postseason exit can be pushed back a little bit further in their minds.

i thought we won two vs phoenix last year. we blew them out in the beginning of the season then came from 17 down in the 4th to win thanks to menu, and some timely 3s from barry.

Even though the Spurs released the SOLD OUT notice ... actually a few single tickets were just released on ticketmaster.
There's 36.00 tickets and 91.00 tickets.

You are right. I was thinking about losing 3 out of 4 to the Grizzlies.

You are right. I was thinking about losing 3 out of 4 to the Grizzlies.
But you were right about the Spurs/Suns series in 2003 -- the Suns took 3 of 4 from the Spurs that year and still couldn't win a playoff series.
Likewise, in 1994-95, the 62-win Spurs raked the Rockets in 5 of 6 regular season games, only to lose 4 of 6 playoff games.
Regular season series are important, but they aren't the end-all and be-all of basketball.

No it isn't, I don't think if we lose this game we are eliminated from postseason contention.

Difference is that this Mavs team can get it done on both sides of the court.

They are an above average defensive team. People are starting to talk like they are a GREAT defensive team. I guess if you go from zero defense to a 5 in defense it makes heads turn. I still think they are built for the regular season, as usual.

There's some tickets available on Ticketmaster that were released today. $24.00 tickets on up.
Fuck, that is cheap. I thought the cheapest NBA tickets were around $50-60US.

Nope, the cheapest Spurs tickets are $9.
Good lord.
Obviously that is the very worst seat right up the top, but what would the view be like? Couldn't be that bad.

It's the corner sections at the top. But it's still not horrible. People complain that the seats are cramped and that it's steep up there, but honestly the site lines are awesome wherever you sit. So if you have a family and want to take them to the game cheap, the $9 seats are a great deal.
$9, I can't believe that. That's about $13AUS.
Sorry for the 20 questions, but do you know if it is like that around most NBA arenas?

It is steep compared to the dome, but you might as well have been watching from the Tower of Americas as the upper deck of the dome - it's that far away. All the new arenas I've been to are like the ATTC, so if you don't have vertigo it's nice.

Yeah it is. There's always a limited number of super cheap seats. For example for the Lakers, they have some $10 seats at Staples.

Thanks for the info Kori and Chump.
I'm planning my trip to the USA which should happen in about 18-24 months and I want to see a lot of NBA in various cities. I didn't realise there were seats that cheap, so that's great for me. Obviously I want some games in really good seats, but seeing random games for $10 is fantastic.

THAT'S what I left behind in SA - permanently. Hope my 'bro enjoys the game.
