Enjoy Nazr, I guess.

That sucks, less reason to watch the draft this year..........

Hopefully taking those 2 picks away from one of the best talent evaluation staffs in the game doesn't come back to haunt the Spurs.

Spurs should have one. They traded PHXs pick for Nazr, not their own. I think.

I cant remember which site it was but I found a mock draft which had the knicks in place of the spurs for nazr.

They traded Phoenix's pick from last year and their pick from this year:

The draft picks acquired are San Antonio’s 2006 conditional first-round selection and Phoenix’s conditional 2005 first-round selection originally acquired by the Spurs on Jun. 26, 2003 (in exchange for the draft rights to Leandro Barbosa).

Oh ok. Oh well. It wont matter for San Antonio.

Maybe we can find another Manu in the 2nd round

I am not sure if the spurs will continue drafting young players who play in europe because its getting much more expensive to bring them over to the NBA..The spurs have to get younger next year!!

You don't need another Manu, he's still relatively young. You need another Bruce Bowen. And, if the Spurs have a second round pick, they should seriously look at Bobby Jones from Washington.

I meant another Buried Treasure late in the draft like Manu

Ya, I agree...SF has gotta be the main focus for the spurs in this coming offseason/Draft...

Getting Mohammed for two years PLUS salary cap relief in dumping Malik was worth a late 1st rounder. This should be a weak draft, anyway.

I suspect, as far as young SFs go, the Spurs will look to pry away one of those already in the league.

The Spurs should use draft time to rekindle talk with the Hornets about JR Smith.

So they should have sacraficed last season's championship in place of having a late round pick this year?!?!?!

Uh, whatever.

I believe Peter's (Marcus') point was that the payoff might have been too expensive, depending on whether or not we lose Nazr... but of course there is no way of knowing and hindsight is never an available commodity come draft time....

In anycase, we have enough prospects in Europe to make up for the fact that we don't have picks this year....

Ian Mahinini??
Robertas Javtokas
Luis Scola
Victor S??? (who is already around)

Am I missing anyone?

It would be the shit if we could trade some of our shittier players to get a very high pick, then draft LAMARCUS 'bryant' ALDRIDGE (he has a Romain Sato-esque Wingspan!)

Can you even imagine another Spurs center that was capable of dunking quickly, blocking, and making consistent jumpers?
