Seems like the Pistons peaked way early. They don't consistently dominate teams any more. Teams are going into stretch runs and Pistons may have been in their stretch run in November - January.

Frickin' Pistons. If they were going to win they should have at least blown them out, so my friend could get in the game for the Sonics.

Pistons still have big games coming up before playoffs-

2 vs Miami
2 vs Indiana
1 NJ
1 Pho(w/ Amare)
1 Dal

they can't afford to start losing games right now if they want to have HCA.

Pistons are not playing great right now, but it was a road game, and it's very difficult to win on the road in the NBA.

Just for reference, as well as the Spurs are playing right now, as they are going into their "stretch run" over the last two weeks, their last couple of road games include:

83-80 win at Memphis
100-103 loss at Philadelphia
87-101 loss at Cleveland
92-88 win at Indiana

If this is the Spurs' stretch run, then they aren't exactly dominating teams either. NBA road games. Who's on their stretch run? Dallas is the only team that has been on a tear lately, really beating up on teams by double digits. Miami is beating non-playoff teams.

Quick to judge over one loss to Denver and a close Seattle game? Maybe ...

Ok, mediocre is a bit of a stretch, but I still feel, regardless of their record, they're not playing quite as well as they were earlier. Unfortunately (for us, at least :)) they're still winning games, and there's still plenty of time for them to get it going again.

Actually in my opinion the way Duncan and Manu have played almost all season, includng now, they Spurs are getting by on grit and on the brilliance of Pop as a coach and his system with a little help from Parker on O.

It's just that the Pistons, who looked invincible before, have fallen back to earth and are nowhre near a prohibitive favorite imo, though they should have a elative cakewalk through the East which is a BIG help.

Well they wanted him in preseason but management wasn't willing to cut a guaranteed contract to keep him. So they kept tabs on him all year. By how Hill talks, he should get a little playing time and see how it goes.

I know a lot of NBA players because I'm a reporter. But to actually be this close with someone who is the NBA is very exciting.

Don't mention that to Bill Walton, during the 76er's game tonight he said "the way Miami is playing right now he would pick them to win it all" Musberger questioned him "win it all"? Walton replied "yes".

I looked at Miami's schedule a couple weeks ago and highlighted this section as when the Miami bandwagon would officially take off. Look at this cakewalk...

Tue 14 Orlando W 107 - 93
Wed 15 @ Orlando W 110 - 100
Wed 22 @ New York W 103 - 83
Sat 25 Seattle W 115 - 106
Mon 27 Toronto W 101 - 94
Wed 1 @ Boston W 103 - 96

And next up they have Atlanta and Charlotte. I expect some "Miami has turned it on" crap from the media/fans very shortly.

walton always gets carried away, it's part of his unique charm. my favorite walton moment was him dissing his own son... "Haven't we heard enough about this kid already?" or the time he said "That's not the kind of facial you want!"
