Pushing a defender down and out of the way when the defender is just trying to move his/her feet and stay in front really should be called an offensive foul. This is especially true at the interscholastic level. Once it gets into the entertainment world of the NBA, the refs are going to be more lenient for players like retirees MJ and Reggie Miller, or players like AI today.

On your point regarding Bowen not being a guard...while it's true that Bruce is listed at 6'7" and starts as the Spurs' SF, he defends Guards all the time, plus in a lot of the Spurs' offensive plays the 2 and the 3 are interchangeable - as are the 4 and the 5 positions.
