Suns take their 9-game W streak in to AA Arena.

Can the Suns repeat the Lakers helpful gesture vs Pistons, and put the Spurs one L better than the Mavs?

Probably not. The Suns as well talked about now are "hurting" right now for help down low.

Tim Thomas isn't that answer, although his 20pt debut was impressive. Though he had no other stats.

The Suns struggled against the Magic in the last game and have yet to beat Dallas this season. The Suns improved "defense" has taken a back seat in the past month save for the Houston blowout before the break.

It's going to be a pretty good game, but I've got a feeling the Mavs are gonna take this one.

A Suns win today would move the Spurs into 2nd place for the league's best record. With one more game against the Mavs in SA on the schedule, that would be significant.

I haven't seen a legit defensive stop yet.

yeah no kidding. I thought after getting humiliated by Bowen Dirk would have at least tried to do something in the low post, boy was I wrong. I love the term Avery Johnson used to describe Dirk's game against SA, he "was out of position." Meaning he refuses to use his size in the paint against much smaller defenders. It's kinda sad really.

Dirk is a shooter.

Dallas is going through 3-4 centers every year to find the right mix, just like every other team not named Detroit, Miami and San Antonio.

Dirk is not going to change. Dude can shoot it... no need in changing that...

Their time will come, but not this year.

coopdogg3
03-05-2006, 06:18 PM
If all Dirk can do is shoot, then he won't be nearly as effective as he could be. If he just developed a basic low-post game, say good enough to where he could beat a guy who is 6" shorter than he is, than Dirk would be a far more productive player. But hey, here's to hoping that never happens.

Hey fuck you all. Dallas was missing 2 of their top 5 players. Also Dallas relies a ton on their bench to come through. Josh Howard is possibly Dallas's MVP this year. Even though Dirk scores the most Howard is the best overall player Dallas has. Congrats to the Suns and they will be a handful to any team in the playoffs but Dallas beat them the prior 2 times. Wow has the hate for the mavs escalated on this site.

True, but the Suns were missing more than the Mavs and have been since before Dallas won those first two games.

It was a great game that Phoenix won. They made shots, made plays late and did enough. True, with Howard, Dallas likely wins this game, but if you're wishing for 100% health for both teams, then you're crazy. Amare and Thomas make Phoenix's frontcourt one of the best in the League to go along with arguably the best backcourt rotation in the League.

Are the suns not missing Amare and Kurt Tomas?

Amare the guy who owned dampier for like 40 points

Kurt Tomas the guy who ancors out post defense , the place were you scored a good deal of your points

Please , shut the hell up!

mavsfan1000

Yeah the suns could be the best team if they get completely healthy. I knew that from the start of the season. Unfortunately that didn't happen. The suns sure took advantage of the mavs with Diaw at center. I think having him instead of Thomas was a good thing in the mismatch favored the suns. Eddie House is cold blooded also.

so every game in the regular season the mavs lose I should take it like a man? I don't know how to deal with that. All the stress on losing one regular season game. I guess the mavs should've gone 82-0 so I won't have to deal with it.

Hey I was pissed at all the taunting that was going on 1 regular season game. I'm just glad Dallas doesn't have to face the the Suns till the WCF because the matchups are terrible for Dallas. Dirk gets owned by Marion all the time and Dallas's weakness on offense is center. That means the mismatch of Diaw on Dampier favors Diaw big time.
