I never get why some people don't understand the Mavsbashing on SPURStalk

I am sure there was something useful on that board, but I could only read about four posts. I just don't care what other people think about the Mavs, or any other team including the Spurs. Public opinion of my team means squat.

I have to admit some of my comments are due to my "Hatred towards the Spurs" as well. They are still the favorites and I am hating that fact.

Fine. But do you have to make a mockery of yourself and Mavs fans in doing so?

Hey I'm sick of the excuses since this is the wrong site to talk about them. Spurs fans have plenty of excuses as well. Stating facts is something around here people don't want to hear.

Americans hate losers. That's why they hate the Mavs. For Chrissakes, they're not even lovable losers like the Cubs. They just suck a cock and a big ass pair of balls.

I don't hate the Mavs. They are a very good team with a great coach.
The only fault I can find with them is that they are not the Spurs. :)

The thing that raises animosity towards the Mavs up a notch is due to one thing only: Mark Cuban. Whatever his good points are (and he does have some), he completely negates them with his incessant moaning and whining.
And then there is a core of Mav fans who take their lead from him.

"Diop can shut down Duncan"
uhhhh.. state some REAL facts, and maybe some will hear them. At this point, I barely even read your posts because I am afraid I might get hiccups laughing so hard at being told that Bruce Bowen is stronger than Dirk.

nailed it.... at least as far as Im concerned. That guy is smart and has some likable qualities in him but I cant stand when someone gets all hurt in their seemingly "female nether-regions" because they think everyone is out to get them, and its not like its once in a while, its practically every damn game he has something to complain about.

Everyone's perception of the Mav's must have changed after watching them implode in the final minutes of the game. When a loss was certain they totally lost their cool for everyone to see nationally. I loved it. I just wish they would have shown that woman Mark Cuban more. I am sure SHE was pissed!
Mavericks : :pctoss :wtf :flipoff :bang
Spurs : :hat :fro :king :nope Not in our house !

The Spurs fans don't have any hate towards anyone. Afterall it is our team that is on top. It is the hate, jealousy, and envy from followers of other teams that Spurs fans have to deal with.

Hate is too strong a word, the Mavs like the Suns are becoming rivals and with that territory comes "smack".
My only huge problems is with Cuban and in that realm only his one-sided pleas to the league office on the refs.
Rest of team etc, now that Nellie is gone is hard to truly dislike (except for Stackhouse - he is a friggin #$&*&$ nuff said and the charmin man, Keith Van Horn).

Speaking of Van Horn, here's an interesting stat: Yesterday was the first loss for Dallas when VH was not in the lineup. They are now 9-1 when Van Horn does not play.
Bad news for Spurs fans is that Keith is now out two weeks with an injury.
I would treat Dallas much more charitably if they had a different owner ... but even the critic in me has to admit that, with a different owner, they wouldn't be a perennial 50-60 game winner.

Now that is funny. A 6'6 player guarding Dirk? Dirk has been owning guards all year this year. I think Avery finally developed Dirk's post game. Bowen will get owned if he is the one guarding Dirk.
Now that is funny :lol :lol :rolleyes

Cuban's hypocrisy.

All I have to say is the Mavs talk way too much shit, and then when their true colors show like they have the past two games, the ones that don't disappear still talk shit and blame the loss on other things (like fouls or injuries) just like the leader, Cuban does.
People hate the mavs because their fans don't give credit where it is due, and the team doesn't man up when it loses a game.

I live in Dallas, and you should have heard the excuse making by the media up here after the last two losses. There is a huge difference between the Mavericks fan and the Cowboys fan. Dale Hansen reported the score of the Suns game last night and then promptly went on to say the reason the mavs lost is because Josh Howard, Bill Braskey and Keith Van Horn were out with injury. ESPN radio kept doing that too.
Mark Cuban gets credit for turning the Mavericks around when the team was already in place when he purchased it. This is the same city that won't give Jerry Jones credit for winning a Super Bowl with Barry Switzer as the coach.
Mark Cuban is the poster boy for the nouveau riche, and it's why people don't like him.

The real question is, how quickly will they turn on him if they don't?

Oh, I was referring to San Antonio, but you think Dallas will turn on AJ that quickly? I don't know, I'd give him one more year,
One of the guys (David Chancellor) was sayinging he hates everything about the Mavs organization from top to bottom. Cuban, Stackhouse, everything. Then he was asked about AJ. He wondered outloud how much will San Antonio still love AJ come playoff time.

There's no real need to pull a card when the Mavs don't have one to pull at all. Well, except the "We have a great regular season record!" and "We have Josh Howard, Jason Terry, and Keith Van Horn!!!" cards.

I find this hilarious! What the hell is wrong with Spurs fans hating on the Mavs?? You find that so surprising? they are opposing teams! not only that, they are regional rivals!!
I have no respect for the Mavs. I don't like the team, and I don't like the owner! I think Cuban is an ass! I won't underestimate them, they are a strong team, but I sure as hell won't apologize for trashing them! :D
EDIT: this does not mean I hate mavs fans, just to clarify, because some fans might feel offended by me saying MAVS SUCK! http://spurstalk.com/forums/images/smilies/smilol.gif
I think some of the hate is stemming from overzealous fans and owner.
It's fine to be excited about your team, but when you're quick to disparage other teams or give excuses (again fans and owner), it gets tired pretty quickly.

I think Mavs fans are missing the point, it's not the Mavs that we hate, it's the Mavs Fans. Now the Lakers, I hate the Lakers. Not the Mavs though. I don't hate Pistons fans, or Suns fans, or Heat fans, maybe t-pup009, but that's about it.

This is correct. The Mavs have a great coach, and a great scheme. They're on their way, once they get the mental toughness that comes with experience.
Mavs fans are complete fucking morons, however. It's as if they're apprenticing to become Laker fans. Is there some correlation between being superficial and shallow as a city, and having fans like these? After all, Dallas is just Los Angeles, albeit without any of the things that make LA a cool place to live, but with just as much silicone and twice as much hair spray. No, make that three times as much.

You could dislike Suns and Pistons fans for the same reason. Notice the Suns fans suddenly showing up again. It should probably be taken as a sign of respect that other teams' fans think the Spurs are the team to beat.

Yes and that, to the dismay of the other half of Mavs fans who actually make sense and respect other teams inevitably causes the Spurs fans to generally look at the Mavs as trolls and whiners.
