Victoria, not Victorious
At last Saturday's Cal men's hoops season finale versus USC, Bears boosters pulled a prank that straddles the fuzzy gray line between "Crap-Yer-Pants Hilarious" and "Inexcusably Cruel."
When USC guard Gabe Pruitt (http://poll.imdb.com/title/tt0533147/) took his first trip to the free throw line early in the game, the Cal student section hollered in unison: "VIC-TOR-IA, VIC-TOR-IA," and then yelled out a telephone number. Pruitt glanced back at the crowd in horror and bewilderment before clanking his free throws.
It turns out that a couple of mischeivous little bastards from the Cal student section had been IM'ing with Pruitt all week under the identity of "Victoria," a fictional UCLA hottie, and Pruitt was eagerly anticipating a date with this nubile co-ed back in Westwood after the game. In preparation for the date, Pruitt had handed over his digits, which the Cal student section recited back to him in unison.
Pruitt, a 79% free throw shooter (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=22161) this season, missed both shots after the "VIC-TOR-IA" chants began, and hit only three out of 13 shots the whole game. Cal beat USC by 11 (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=260630025) for the season sweep, in part due to the Cal fans' devious psy-ops.
Other perspectives on this prank are here (http://sarcastipundit.blogspot.com/2006/03/victor-victoria.html) and here (http://dryuen2005.blogspot.com/2006/03/we-want-steve-and-victoria.html).

That has to be the best prank ever on that scale for a College Sports event!
Nope.
Yale students passing out the cards to read 'We Suck' to the Harvard fans beats this.
Just think what could be done to aggies.
Wait, no need. They do it to themselves. And that's not a joke. They just get the 'sympathy vote' for not realizing they are as stupid as they are.
aTm: The only university in America that if one of my children went there, I would disown them.

I have a friend of mine in the Army that is enrolled in graduate school classes at Texas A&M University at Qatar. Even stranger is that he finished his undergraduate work at Georgetown's Qatar branch.
Back on subject, that was one of the better pranks I've heard of lately. Especially liked Cal's use of UCLA against USC.

I wasn't posting in comparison to t.u. I was just trying to prove to word that A&M is a great school, and that one would be retarded to disown a child if they decided to go there.

Oh lord...this is why people with any sense despise aTm.
It's not that it's not a good school. It's that you think you're more than you are. I wouldn't want my son to be part of that idiot aggie culture.
It's a cult. A confederacy of dunces.
BTW, 2006 US News and World Report, ranked aTm tied for 60 in the best universities.
University of Texas, tied for 52. ( Texas has fallen since they have to take the top 10% of Texas high school graduating classes. They were 20th in the NATION in the mid 90's of ALL universities, public and private, before that. A great school, destroyed by the Texas legislature. )
Proving once again, the aggies are idiots. NOT because they don't have a good school. But over and over, they believe they are more than they are.

Hmm Aggies are "idiots" because they think their school is more than it really is....wtf. Did you not just read the FACTS I posted? You do know what facts are, correct?
Cult? AHAHAHA. It's called tradition, something you obviously don't celebrate. And that's fine, to each their own. But I think it's silly for you to say it's idiotic just because you don't like it. There's plenty of people who do like it and who get ahead in life because of that tradition and family-like atmosphere.
And whoopty-fuckin-doo t.u. is 8 spots ahead of A&M. :lmao How does that prove anything about Aggies being idiots? How can you PROOVE that Aggies think they are better than they really are?? Seriously, do people stare at you funny when you talk to yourself?

plenty of those people are tahoe driving, kevin fowler/eminem/staind/disturbed listening to, moderatly wealthy to wealthy christian, white kickers, aspiring kickers, - to grand ol' front tucked, flipped up collar, pink polo, frosted tipped, fauxhawked, prefrayed chodes
while these people exist in great number in almost all public state universities, including UT, it is not the overwhelming majority
