Still down 6 at the half.
Delk with 12 first half points.

Delk is on fire. 12 points in 9 minutes in the 2nd. Strange to get that kind of help from the bench, lol.

Did something happen to Tay? Why did he only play 7 minutes in the first half? Of all games for him not to get minutes, it's gotta be one where he's playing well, lol.

FreshPrince22

Wizards are on fire. 7 of 11 from three point range. Arenas and Butler aren't missing from the perimeter. Tony Delk is saving our asses. This guy is going to be a beast once he learns the system.

IMO, the Wiz cannot keep this shooting% this high. Its pretty sick to watch. They are just making everything.

Yea, it's gotta be off. Delfino came in for Tayshaun at the break between quarters. Then Mo came in for Delfino after 6 minutes or so. Not sure why Mo played at all though. Delfino was playing solid and so was Tayshaun. Mo doesn't have the best Bball IQ. Commiting stupid touch fouls when they're in the penalty, biting on every pump-fake. If he's not shooting the 3 well or dunking, he's not doing much out there at all.

Ok, sounds a little better. I didn't listen to all of the first quarter, and the Yahoo Gamechannel had the wrong number. Kinda nice Flip kept the bench rolling in there.

All-Star Arenas feels snubbed by Flip

Steve Aschburner, Star Tribune

Check out Gilbert Arenas' stats line in the Washington Wizards' boxscore against Detroit Saturday night. If it was big, this might explain why.

Arenas, a member of the Eastern Conference All-Star squad last month in Houston, apparently took it very personal when coach Flip Saunders played him for only 9 minutes, 51 seconds in the showcase game. Arenas scored one point, missing all four of his shots.

So now the Wizards guard has a vendetta against Saunders and the Pistons.

Saunders has shrugged off the sore feelings, noting that the East squad was heavy with guards and that one of his Pistons, Richard (Rip) Hamilton, logged only 13 minutes.

"Maybe Rip doesn't want to play for me anymore, I don't know," Saunders said.

Well, I am not one to panic, but this is 3 games in a row where the Pistons have been severly outplayed. Some would like to blame the Wiz's hot shooting.

Me? I blame this pathetic excuse for a defense. Arenas drives uncontested to lane for 3 dunks. Tom "Im scrubbin it up" Thomas is slashing past our bigs for reverse layups regularly. Finally, Caron Butler is a fucking all-star tonight.

Im so sick and fucking tired of hearing this bullshit about teams having an anomoly game. No, the Pistons are slipping. Slipping badly. Slipping ugly.

They went from one of the best teams I have ever seen play, to an above average team. Not great, just above average.

Man, I hope they can 'flip the switch' for the playoffs. If they dont, Im serious when I say....Fire Flip. He rode the backs of these players all season. Now that they have hit a funk, its on the coach to get em out of it. So far, he is failing miserably.

Last year he shot like 15% or something against the spurs. Yes, when Arenas is on, he's unguardable. However, Delk is gambling way too much and not moving his feet like a good defender.

:lol The Pistons have not "turned off" anything like you said. I've said it earlier and I'll say it again. Pistons success in the first half of the season was magnified by the awesome play of Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups...however what Flip failed to do when he "opened up" the Pistons new found offense...was that he hasn't tried to include guys like Tayshaun Prince, McDyess, and even Rasheed into that offensive flow. That's why when either Rip or Billups has a bad game, the rest of the team suffers. Prince, especially, suffered from this.

The Pistons actually outscored the Wizards in the paint. The Pistons lost solely because the Wizards were shooting ball extremely well from the perimeter (even on very well contested shots), and the Pistons got a little sloppy with TOs. The Pistons have a tendancy to let their opponent get comfortable offensively in the first few minutes, and sometimes it lets them get into a rhythm. They have done this for the last couple years, but it has been pretty bad since the Denver game.

That may be true, but the Pistons didn't score in the paint in garbage time either. In fact, the Wizards scored the only 2 paint-points in garbage time at the 7:13 minute mark. It's pretty obvious to watch the game and see this was dominated by the Wizards perimeter shooting. 12 made threes... ball game right there.
