Too bad Lithuania couldn't have been playing for the gold, then we could have had Manu, Jav, and Duncan all get medals.

Manu with the horrid pass. Did it slip out of his hand?

I didn't realize Oberto's hand was broken. I thought it was just a finger.

When did that happen to Oberto?

Marbury hurt him yesterday, but I didn't realize it was that bad.

You know, losing Oberto really hurts Argentina...they rely on their toughness inside...this is a huge blow for them IMO.

Italy is a better team than they get credit for...I won't be surprised if this is a really close game.

LOL Marbury is a tough little SOB...I remember when he hurt Duncan in the playoffs two years ago with that same type play.

A stupid Laker fan on another board was using the Oberto - Marbury play as an example of the flopping that takes place in international basketball.

If he only new Marbury has diminished considerably our chances of winning the gold.

Is it just me and my wife, or do most of the Argentinians look alike? Or else Manu is just so fast that he looks like he's in 3 places at once...

Montecchia, Manu and Sanchez all kind of look alike but the rest of them don't.

Sanchez looks like Manu when he plays too...Sanchez plays D a lot like Manu does...I see Sanchez go for a steal and I think it's Manu.

What freaks me out is that the Argentinian last names are almost like an American team with their diversity...Some of those guys have Italian last names, some have Polish/Jewish type last names, some have Spanish last names and one guy has a German last name. It's a trip seeing another national team with that much diversity in their last names.

Argentina recieved immigrants from Spain and Italy mostly.

Then from Poland, Ukrain,German,etc.
My granpa and granma are polskie(SP?).The other relatives were spanish descendents.

Manu seems to be OK.

I love how active Scola is and is constantly running the floor.

Can we bring in Scola to play the 3 or would he be Malik's backup at 4 (in other words the backup of the backup of Duncan)?

KoriEllis

Scola could never play the 3 in the NBA. He's definitely a back up 4. And as they just reported, he's the Spurs' priority next summer.

Poppovich says next summer's top priority is getting Scola in a spurs uniform.

I guess that means they plan to wrap up the Parker extension this summer.

lol, I heard them say that Pop said that.

Probably means he'll get traded.

Man, the Italians are a bunch of punks on D.

Awesome game by Scola. As an international power forward, he might be even better than Tim Duncan. :shock
