I found this beautiful collie that is hanging around my house. I can't put her in my yard though because I have 3 dogs as it is. I have her tied up in my front yard in case someone is out lookiung for her, but i cant leave her there forever.

Eriks, call the humane shelter. They'll take the dog for a 25 dollar fee. They'll groom and spay/neuter the dog also give it all its shots then put it up for adoption.

Awesome. That's a much better idea, thanks. That's the one on Fredericksburg, right? I've adopted from the defense league, but I always get the two mixed up.

Yes, the Humane Society shelter is off of Fredericksburg Rd.
Make sure to call and make a drop appointment, I believe you have to call before 10 A.M.

So you have to pay $25 to drop off a dog you found?
Remind me not to be the one to find a stray dog.

Come on 50, have a freakin heart.
That 25 takes care of that poor dog and helps him get a new home!
Id gladly pay that to ensure a pooch got a great home, and great care!!!!

Yeah same here. 25 bucks is a small price to pay. That's like cutting back on 2 DVD's. I'd rather send them to the defense league or humane society. The dog I adopted from animal control by Brack had Kennel Cough and was never fed. Not the city's fault of course, the city can't control how people treat animals.

My high school was very close to the dog pound. Because the nuns were too cheap to turn on the a/c in August and September (since it was supposed to cool off soon.. yeah right!), we kept our windows open all the time hopeing for a breeze. Instead, we got the stench of the pound burning up the euthanized dogs. Dead, burning dogs in 100-degree heat. I still feel nauseous just thinking of it.
For that reason alone, I would pay the $25. But I know some people just don't have it, so I would never judge anyone for not paying it.

Actually, I believe the price differs in terms of age.
Pups are 5 dollars, then it goes to 10 dollars and then finally at a certain age all dogs are 25 dollars.
I think it becomes 25 dollars at 4-6 months.
