also, Im going to need you to turn your hat around as well, posting with a backwards hat is a violation of the dress code. If you dont like it, take it up with the manager!

Hey Kori,
Mini-Chi says thanks for the jersey. I think we are going to have to chisel it off her body. That was very sweet of you...she does have one request "Why don't they just call me princess?" Hey, she said it, not me.

Great time had by all.

Thanks and we look forward to it again. Maybe all you knuckleheads can make a ROADTRIP to College Station on a football weekend!

Everyone should check their credit card charges.

Our bill was $27 something. When I checked the bank, they charged us that amount, plus another $44. :wtf

I left them a message about it late last night but they haven't returned the call yet.

You shouldn't have had to go get a beer. I know our table was big, but the place wasn't crowded at all. So that's pretty weak that you had to serve yourself.

Smackie Chan
03-19-2006, 01:51 PM
I think you payed for the VIP service, After all they made sure our table had the coldest Wings and the hottest beer around :lmao

I worked at Tony Romas and a few other places and that shit happens everyday. You would freak out If I told you what else goes on behind the kitchen door. You will get your money after they look at the bill, But it will take over week.

03-19-2006, 01:58 PM
No you didn't. And even if you did, that wouldn't be $44 extra dollars and a separate charge. If you pay with a credit card it is much harder for them to refund back to your credit card than to charge you again, go figure.

It seems like San Antonio does not see the big picture. They live day by day, If the spurs lose to the Mavs by 30 points? They feel the spurs don't belong in the NBA finals. Or they will not win a ring, The same goes when they win, That seems to be how the sport bars are. They feel that if they don't have a standing room only when the Spurs play that there bar sucks so they don't give a shit about the service. They hire a bunch of kids who want to be somewhere else on a Saturday night.

They don't see the big picture. If you treat your customers well, and give them good service and great deals on the food and drinks since after all they have a website who is bringing at least 25 plus Spur fans who will tell 25 other Spur fans about the great time they had and the great beer prices, all this being posted at a popular website and getting free advertisement and next game the crowd gets Bigger and then the playoffs come and the crowds are huge etc.... The next year they grow even bigger.

But Like I say most of these places are run by big corporations that don't come down to San Antonio or the place is ruined by some person who does not look to the future.

Have you ever noticed when your in Philly you ask the Cab driver where to get the best Philly steak and cheese sandwich and he has no problem telling you?

After all when in san Antonio folks would talk about Little Hips burgers and how Juicy and Big they was and I never saw an ad in TV or the paper.

Keep in Mind NWA sold 4 million copies of their Rap album and not one song was ever played on the radio.

Funny how that hole in the wall sandwitch shop is packed and it has no radio or TV advertisement. Kinda like Kori's website, it has more traffic in the forums than Dr. Phil's website and he has a TV show.

Word of mouth is the best way to succeed, and right now there are at least 50 posters who will not go see the Spurs play at that place now just from what they are reading.

After all why does Shack go eat at Lulu's cafe every time he is in SA?
The Bottom-Line is you have to give in order to get, Kori gave them her card, and they are giving her the shaft, it's the American way

I also realized why we got such poor service. At the end of our table there is a wall there with another section and I went back to make a phone call at one point and saw half of the staff back there eating food and joking around.

I'm just thinking about a new place that we can go, especially with the playoffs fast approaching.

We need:
- a big tv
- decent food that isn't too expensive
- drinks that aren't weak and also not too expensive
- enough parking
- easy for everyone to get to
- a place where Manny can where his hat any way he wants to
- a shrubbery

We used to have GTG's there all of the time ... it's in the Hilton between San Pedro & Blanco. I don't know if it's improved since then, but at the time the service was TERRIBLE.

Oh, and they didn't know what kind of soda goes in a scotch & soda. And ask Kori about a surprise she got in her iced tea. :wow :drunk :lol

Kori Ellis

Kennedy's is way too small unfortunately.

In the playoffs, we need some place that will take a reservation for 40+ people. That's nearly impossible to find.

Currently, Hooligans has overcharged our credit card by $44 and hasn't even returned my calls about it. So even if I don't care about Manny's hat, at this point I wouldn't consider going back there.

Oh.. and Iceman's is shut down.

True, we have this same kind of thread every season. And we try out a few places during the playoffs and then in the end, everyone ends up at our house.

I have some other ideas that I'm going to check out though. We'll see.

T Park

Well the movie theatre thing would've been FINE, had they not had that stupid DJ.

The whole theatre seating with other Spurs fans was kinda cool, the DJ just f'ed it up.

Goombas was OK, but too crowded.

Someone needs to open up a big sports bar, that can be accomadating ;)

Kori Ellis
03-22-2006, 02:19 AM
For the theatre ... We went there several times for GTG's when there was no DJ. We just needed to request with or without the DJ and they would accommodate us. But several people hated the theatre seating because it was impossible to talk to each other.

Yeah, Goomba's had no room for us after the first couple rounds.

Even if there's a sports bar, it will be nearly impossible to get seating for 40-50 people during playoff time.

This is just an idea - let me know what ya'll think.

How 'bout a club house?
EX: the one here at my complex is very nice and big. it has a full kitchen & bathroom across the hall. It also has a big screen TV.
PROS:
*convientent location (if we used mine it's in the medical center, but I know other *people live on the northside too and may have access to a clubhouse)
*no shitty bouncers
*no messed up CC charges
*no other patrons taking up all of "our" room.
*the "privete party" feel.. it;s like someone's house without being someone's house and possibly upsetting the neighbors.
* it;s right by a pool. actually that could be a con w/ drunk people.
* plenty of parking
CONS:
*have to throw our own trash and vaccumm
*no one to serve us drinks
*have to provide our own drinks, beer and food.

I guess if everyone (or those who could) brought a 6 pack of cokes or beers and maybe chipped in $5 for wings and chips and dips.....

anyway.
It's a thought.
