Employing every bit of my meteorological education courtesy Trinity University, I'd say it's going to rain tonight. :lol

It's been raining at our house all day.

We're gonna get rocked. Good vertical profile for hail, so if you have a garage and care about your vehicle, use it.

How about the 180 mph winds cyclone pounding Australia? An omen of the upcoming hurricane season?

Samr

My truck is in our barn (damn I feel hick), so I'm safe. We also have a basement, for a wost-case scenario, which was manifested a few years ago when a small tornado actually hit about 100 yards from our house.

Not...Going...to...happen.

The storm is moving Northeast, go to bed people.

Doesn't take alot of Weather knowledge to see that.

60 dBZ 39,000 ft. 77 kg/mē 80% 100% 1.50 in. 38 knots

That is the radar profile for the storm headed torwards San Antonio. Its got at least 1 1/2 inch hail in there. All the storms in that line are showing 100% hail coverage, but there doesn't seem to be much rotation so there shouldn't be any tornados.

Vashner
03-20-2006, 12:25 AM
But if it get's thru our Chevy / Ford gas dome bubble it could like heat up and all hell could break loose.. it looks scary..

MannyIsGod
03-20-2006, 12:48 AM
Ok, I was wrong about the tornados! There is a tornadic signature in one of the storms that is gonig to cross the western part of Bexar. I don't know where it is, but the cell is going to cross the Sea World area. I think the NWS will issue a tornado warning pretty soon for Bexar.

Yeah, the rain and wind are here. No hail yet but I'm sure we'll here it like crazy because our office is loud as hell when it rains because of our roof.

I just called...they've got everything settled (except for one of our dogs who's afraid of thunder and the house alarms I'm sure will go off if the power flashes).

As soon as I read Kori's post, I had to call (my 'rents are blocks from Kori's place). My step-dad said the hail started falling while I was on the phone with them.

Its pretty bad here right now. I'm downtown.

RashoFan
03-20-2006, 01:24 AM
at least the "rotational movement" has dissipated...it looked like it was moving up towards my area....never mind it is over the 410/35 area....noi hail that I can see...

MannyIsGod
03-20-2006, 01:27 AM
We got no hail here downtown. Its tapering off now. That wind was nuts though.

Got a ton of rain in a short time. That'll be good for the plants.

Sorry about your car SW.

Does insurrance cover hail damage?

SpursWoman
03-20-2006, 09:03 AM
Yeah ... but I don't think my car is actually worth the $500 deductible or even filing the claim. :oops :lol

Actually, I'm seeing how white-trash I can get it so this helps. The little dents and chipped paint are going really well with the "Service Vehicle Light" that's on now ... and since no code comes up in the diagnostic test, I can't get whatever fixed so it will turn off. :cuss

Eh...at least it's paid off. :lol
