This time I was unable to see the game and according to boxscore he played good. Can someone make recap of his game for me please? I will appreciate it!
Thanks.

first half was pretty mediocre, he fumbled some easy passes, and balls slipped through his hands.

Second half his shot looked good, made a nice fake on Monta Ellis to beak is his legs, let alone his ankles, and made some big shots.

His defense in the second half was bad to pathetic.

Made some dumb fouls and dumb decisions.

Id give him a B for tonight.

I like how Beno is knocking down the outside shot.

Hope he keeps it up.

1 thing that I noticed, hes more of a natural point guard than Tony is, but ZERO assists for Beno tonight.

Shocked me. Usually he gets 3 or 4.

Only highlight I saw of the game was his great juke of Ellis. That was pretty sweet.

One note, TPark's description makes it seem like Beno had a lot of turnovers in the first half. He had zero on the night.

T Park

he had 1 pass come right to him that he flopped off his hands out of bounds to end the first quarter I think.

Another time there was a scrum, the ball literally fell in his hands and he some how fumbled it away.

He seemed like he was sleep walking in the first half.

Beno is playing as well as any backup point in the league right now. He seems to be more aware of his limitations and he knows what he can do and what he can't. For whatever reason, he, Brent, and Manu really work really well together. Sure, it's not going to make for a great defensive lineup, but those 3 can pretty much get any open shot they want for each other with all their passing.

But he hit 3 Jīs in first half and 2 in second !?

Was he on Derek at that time?

a big pull up and a 3 that made it 8 up with about 2 or 3 minutes left.

Yeah they were big shots.

Assist counts only if afterwards there is an execution. How many as "assists" with missing shots has he produced?

Fisher for those who watched was unconcious and anyone would have had trouble he made them falling down and over well positioned defenders all night.

Beno also held him relatively in check for an important stretch.

The TV angle showed Derek Fisher flashing out with his hands distracting or inhibiting Beno's vision just as the pass was arriving on that first TO that went off Beno and out of bounds. So that one didn't bother me that much.

The Spurs went small at the end of the 3rd quarter and the first part of the 4th. Beno ran at both lead guard and the 2 guard.

There was one stat mentioned in one of the recaps regarding Beno's scoring that is encouraging...in the 9 games he has played during Nick Van Exel's absence, Beno is averaging 10.4 ppg at a 39-70 (55.7%) clip.

To keep things in perspective, Parker was dominant and really took charge down the stretch, while Beno was a nice role player in his 14 minutes.

No wonder TPark is so down on Beno. Based on his recap he's obviously mistaken him for some other player. Not sure who.

i think it's slovenia in general. hell, any foreign nation. maybe he picked up a valor cd with their spirited cover of "Proud to be an American" on it they performed last friday. regardless, beno played well... and i like how parker is stroking that outside j in the mid to late 4th quarter.

Beno did not have a turnover.

He wasn't credited with a turnover, which is the scorekeeper's decision. I didn't see the play in question, but sounds like they might have decide to give the TO to the passer.

Anyway, he had a good game, and 10 PPG over the past 9 games is huge.

No kidding, that was about as bad a distortion of a player's performance as I have ever read. In his role as backup PG he easily got an A.

He did have some dumb fouls, and he had a mediocre first half.

He couldn't handle the pressure of beating the Nuggets in a regular season game, that's why.

Hes played well lately and he was due.

Suprised the Nuggets didn't pressure him in the back court though...

Nazr, Barry, Horry and even Finley was all stone cold, but dissing on them is nowhere to be found.

T Park
03-23-2006, 02:36 AM
Finley was 4-9

how is that stone cold??

Horry??

Uhh, miss the playoffs last year??

No one is gonna diss Horry, after all he has done for the team? hes OK.

Barry, its normal,

Nazr, outside of the turnovers was pretty solid.

Fin was 4-10 (0-4 behind 3P lane)
Nazr 4 pts 3 fouls 3 rebs and 3 TO in 22 min and it was OK?

T Park
03-23-2006, 02:50 AM
I thought you said Americans look too much at the boxscore?

Fin's 10th was a desperation jumper with about 8 seconds left down 12.

So in real time he was about 4-9.

Beno was 0 Fer.

If we wanna look at statistics.

But, as you said, we americans look at the boxscore unlike you guys....

5 ast in 13 minutes makes at least 10 points for Spurs, or did I miss a new rule on ast? :) Is this still a team game? He didn't make shots tonight, bur hey also 0 TO. Wouldn't it be great to have some fans here to stand behind players and the whole TEAM even when they loose? Specillay then. I know it's another thread, but Mavs fan really gave us a lesson.

the 5 assists were good, and the 0 turnovers was better.

he was horrible overmatched on D against Miller, and his 0-6 night was below par.

Sorry that the truth is hard to swallow.

I can swallow truth just ok. And I don't see your posts as bashing players without any sense. Just trying to stay positive behind my team. And yes, Beno needs to improove his game. But as it is he's a decent backup for TP.
