As long as we're the aggressor in the paint and can hold the Nugs to jumpshots on offense, we'll be okay. Tim's been amazing the last 8 mins or so. Their defense seems obsessed on stopping Manu. They have an "anybody but him" attitude right now. But the damage might have been done since he got the champs back in the game and he's smart enough to pass to the open guy and not force it.

Oh god, Musberger is on Carmelo's nuts all game... "He's becoming the complete player, the scorer and the feeder" cos the guy made one pass on a easy 2 on 1 break. Just because 'Toine or Francis make 2 on 1 breaks look like nuclear physics, it doesn't mean they're that complicated.

a complete meltdown in the 4th quarter and no heart whatsoever. denver's defense really isnt that great, these offensive lulls is what could easily prevent us from winning it all. the end of the 3rd quarter is where we fucked up letting denver take the lead. we have official lost hca throughout the playoffs with detroit's win tonight barring any major injury to their starting 5

absolutely pathetic
a complete meltdown in the 4th quarter and no heart whatsoever. denver's defense really isnt that great, these offensive lulls is what could easily prevent us from winning it all. the end of the 3rd quarter is where we fucked up letting denver take the lead. we have official lost hca throughout the playoffs with detroit's win tonight barring any major injury to their starting 5
i'm still waiting for that playoff form to take shape but it just isn't happening
The Spurs showed a lot of heart, Tim especially, they just couldn't pull it out. They didn't get the calls, Denver did, and Melo just went off. They came from 18 down, so it wasn't too bad. That, and Denver has had a few days off while this is a B2B for us.

This shit used to happen to Fin in Dallas all the time. He'd shoot good in the first half and then only get 2 shots in the 2nd half. Pathetic that he was 4-8 in the first half and only get 2 shots in the 2nd half. Both in the 4th quarter, I believe, and 1 was when the game was already over.
I find it hard to believe that the spurs offense bothers him this much. He has one good game and then can't hit the ocean for like 5 games straight.

Fucking A, we didn't get screwed by the refs. Joey Crawford T'ed up half the fucking Nuggets team for crying out loud.
Melo went off because Pop had his head up his ass and apparently thought Bowen had six fouls, not four, because he set him on the bench the last six minutes of the game while we went from up 2 to down 10 while Anthony bitch slapped Finley.
And then on offense you had Manu who was white hot standing on the far end of the court while Tony tried to play Superman.

TP, Nazr, and the bench were pretty crappy today, but you can't be too upset since they've been the biggest reasons the team has been playing so well lately. Still, it's sad that we lost considering that Tim and Manu played a lot better than we would've expected them to play on the second night of a b2b.
Geez, it seems like catching the Pistons for best record is a lot like being Sisyphus, 'cept we're not the evil ones, they are.
Overall, I feel good about things. Some guys could've played better, Pop could've coached better, but you can't win 'em all.
As long as when the playoffs start we're back to our regular with Tim as the 1st option, Manu the 2nd, and TP the third, with Manu the quarterback in the 4th quarter, we'll be okay.
One thing tonight proved for sure is that all the Miami apologists can simmer down. If they're a contender, I'm a toaster oven. That's a one-team conference over there.

That's why my post said "most playoff series," and not "in the playoffs." The Pistons and Sixers weren't the only ones that year -- the Mavericks and Kings played back-to-back on the same days. Of course, that was the spring that both the Pistons and Mavericks were stretched to 7 games in first round series in which they had held commanding leads. The reason for the back-to-backs was the need to have those conference semis catch up to the other series.
I was, however, being sarcastic with my post. The point gets repeated everywhere in San Antonio these days -- thought I'd be the first to do it tonight.

The announcers had one thing right. The Spurs have bought into the B2B bullshit. The media talks about it, the coaches talk about it, and the players talk about it. So now they START the second game of the B2B with the built-in excuse in their heads.

Spurs fans are in denial of the truth. These are not the same mavs of the past. This team is for real.
How can you bee so stupid to be running your mouth about the Mavs when they got owned by the Spurs a couple of weeks ago, plus the fact up to now they have proven nothing?
Then you wonder why people insult you :rolleyes

whatever. we arent gonna see the nuggs in the playoffs unless they beat the suns which seems doubtful. i just wanted hca vs detroit but that doesnt seem likely anymore. lets just go on a tear and play with some consistency

The Pistons beat you also and by larger margins. Does that mean Pistons>Spurs also?

Denver is now one of the top 5 teams with the addition of Evans and patterson and might just make the west finals.

I disagree about that. I think Denver is very capable of beating the suns. The main thing is the suns don't play defense and the nuggets can match their athleticism. Camby is a very active center which minimizes the mismatches the suns like to take advantage of at center.

We lost cuz of this --> 21-34
almost 62% from the free throw line...
Seemed more like this stat- 58 to 27 rebounds. Nazr and Horry played 50 minutes total and had a combined 5 rebounds to Camby's 21- which almost equaled the entire Spurs team total. I know Pop doesn't use Rasho against Denver because of their running style and Rasho's lack of shall we say foot speed, but Rasho is the one who has the best chance at handling Camby.

Nazr seems that he cant do much against team that have some good center. In box score looks like Camby eat him alive....
