made me realize what a crying mess I'm going to be when the same happens for Bruce, Timmy, Tony and Manu.

It makes me appreciate the way the Spurs do jersey retirements. The Utah thing just seems thrown together for one of the greatest players in NBA history. The Spurs roll out the red carpet and make a huge production out of retiring every jersey.

I guess AJ is next. That will be great.

Will there be a bronze statue of his elbow outside the Delta Center?

What a horrible deal.

The owner, and other players acted like they were rushed.

Do it like the Spurs did. After the game so that everyone can focus on them.

What a totally disrespectfull jersey ceremony for prob the pest Power Forward in NBA history.

I feel that.

Thinking about Timmy and Manu's ceremonies is what made me cry during Sean's last year.

What an appropriate end for one of the most classless players in NBA history.

I grudgingly agree with you to a point, though.

Appropriate statuary homage would be a two-fer...Malone kicking out a leg while throwing an elbow and Stockton nearby setting a nasty back pick. After all, they need some kind of tribute, considering that there aren't any championship banners hanging inside.

He's done plenty, on and off the court, to deserve to be disliked. I'd debate you on the bar none argument but we both know all the sides of that argument.

Think Karl could have dressed up a bit for his own ceremony. After all, all the ex-players did.

Also, could anyone make "heads or tails" from his rambling, "all-over-the-place", less than eloquent speech? It seemed as though he was either having trouble collecting his thoughts or tipsy. It's no wonder the guy never could decide if he wanted to retire.

Wonder if they retired a jersey for his prima-donna ego too. I still hate his guts.

Bullshit. I don't know what planet you're from, but here 3 > 0. Malone had much better range than Duncan, but that's about it for things he did better than Tim.

The dirtiest player in NBA history deserves nothing less than a rushed, half-assed jersey retirement ceremony. Hopefully they showed highlights of his back to back Finals losses to MJ. Good riddance Malone! I'm glad you never won a single ring, and I'm glad you never contaminated the Spurs with your presence. Karma's a bitch ain't it?

How 'bout a mural? Two or three different views of him coughing up the ball, game and series to Jordan?

Karl Malone? Eh...

They should put a little John Stockton doll next to it.

Also, why didn't he retire a Laker? :rolleyes

Oh, Gee!!

I was in the house for David's jersey retirement, and I was there for Sean's jersey retirement. It's a pretty emotional event. I can't imagine tearing up for Karl, though.

I'm sure I would....since those are not part of my anatomy. :oops :angel

As for Stockton, I'd like to stomp that slimy little bucket of....

still.

Stockton shouldn't be spared in any homage to dirtiness. Fucker set many a hard pick in the paint, usually with his 'bows in front. Oh well, his 'zags went out like the bitches they are last night.

Oh man, I think they did unveil a statue of Evil outside the Delta Center and he is throwing a 'bow. Lemme see if I can find a pic.

As an aside, they could've portrayed Evil on a horse...

:lol That actually is a pretty classic Malone move.

Shit, I was just in SLC last weekend around the corner from the Delta Center. If I'd known that was there, I could have gone and taken a piss on it.

The Jazz owner and Malone had a pretty contentious relationship the last few years. I don't think there was any love lost between them.

One of the happiest moments of my Spurs fandom was seeing the Spurs quad celebrating on the floor last summer without that gravy training fuck Malone defiling the Silver and Black.
