This really to me just seems senseless. What the hell was his spotter telling him and why the hell was he still going full speed that long after the accident? Lucky there were not two deaths.

Rip.

EDIT: Btw when I heard "dana died" for a sec I thought it was that new cute little lady driver.

she is not new, she is in her second year... get it straight. And her name is danica, NOT "dana"

damn...what an awful screwup...I saw the video yesterday...the other driver is damn lucky he got hit in the rear and not the side or there would have been 2 dead...

Said this morning that the spotter and driver were in communication and the driver was well aware of the wreck ahead. Unless something mechanical went wrong they may never know why he blazed down head on with out even letting off the gas. Sad.

Michael Waltrip had plenty of notice of that little mess in turn 4 yesterday too. His spotter clearly told him turn 4 and to go low, and he drove into the middle of it anyways.

While this is true and i thought of it also, the difference is that Mikey was in a "RACE SITUATION" Huge difference. 42 other cars on the track and a small half mile track at that. Dana was in practice where there may be as few as 2 cars on the track at a time, and on a one and a half mile oval track that can run 3 wide. This was a huge miscommunication. Very Very Sad.

Yea sad. He must of been in the "tunnel" vision cause they said he blew by a couple people at full speed while they where hitting breaks.

Question: Should Pro race car driving continue if it results in 1 death per year?

Stupid question. Race drivers know the risks when they get behind the wheel.

How many deaths does it take?
