I miss South Texas thunderstorms. Thunder, lightning, wind. In Jersey, it just rains, pitter patter. Just like Seattle. And Virginia. IN fact, everywhere I have lived sucks at rainstorms compared to SA.

My son's practice was cancelled, which is good...because my daughter has a game at the exact time in a totally different place. No word if hers is still going on....I think the only time they won't play is if it's lightning or torrentially raining.

It's because we are closer to tropical climate. I think zone 6? Manny what's our climate zone again??

We only 180 miles from warm gulf water.

Not many places in the world that get storms the way the central US does. I'm not familliar with the climate zones etc but there are very few places in the world where you get supercell thunderstorms the way you do from South Texas up through Canada because of the collision of gulf moisture and the colder continental air.

Blah Blah Blah

Anyhow, probably won't get the cool thunderstorms out of this as much as heavy rain. It seems like forever since I got to make fun of the idiots in the low water crossings. I have a feeling this week they'll be back.

Chris keeps tow straps in his truck so he can laugh at, splash, and then tow out people who try to cross too-deep areas and stall. Like the one going out of my neighborhood by the church. :lol

SA thunderstorms have nothing on the storms that the midwest gets. I went to college in Oklahoma and they get some hellacious ones there. I'll take SA storms anyday though, I don't have to worry about hailstones the size of small children or a cow coming through the dining room window.

My mom's in-laws live in Oklahoma north of Tulsa. And though I haven't been in over a decade, I must say you are right. They have some hellacious storms, and thier propensity for tornadoes is astounding. One took out an entire block of a Cherokee reservation twenty feet from her mother-in-law's house yet she only lost some shingles. Crazy shit right there. All that was left was a bunch of foundations.

The people that live across the street from me lost their daughter a year and a half ago when her grandmother tried to go over the crossing down the street. There were lights up but they weren't on and there barricades weren't up. The little girl said she could swm but was taken w/the current down the ditch. :( Since then they've 'fixed' the situation but it wasn't the first time that's happened. I just hope w/the new barricades up that it won't happen again. That water in that ditch can get pretty high.

DFW is supposed to get slammed by severe weather on Thursday. It's that time of the year again. I'm not used to the severe T-storm/tornado season. The sounds of tornado sirens freaks me out.

Yeah. Her birthday was earlier this month and all the family went over to have a little celebration for her. I dont' know how her mom and dad are so strong.

I am here w/the sliding back door open and it just got windier (that's a word right? lol) and darker. I hope that means more rain is on the way!

I know! She grew up so fast. I remember when her mom was pregnant. It doesn't even feel like they've lived there that long.

My grandfather took it really hard because most of his day would consist of him sitting outside on the porch and when the kids would come home he'd watch them play basketball and soccer. I don't think he ever talked to Christie but he certainly knew her. Now they're together and hopefully she's teaching him how to play some ball. :)

It's because San Antonio has about 1 billion cars. Gas dome...

If you look at say the last oh 10-20 storm fronts most of them break up right at the Bexar Co area. Not to mentioned we have covered up so much ground with pavement
you don't get the same kind of evaporation and perk (from rainfall).

It's been raining all day here in Los Angeles.

The Spurs brought the rain with them from Seattle.
