Damn, are we out of the gate fast this year. Last year at this time we had 11 verbal commits for our upcoming class, this year we have 17 commits already! Hell, our recruiting class is almost done and we're not even through with Spring practice. Our current class is includes 16 commits who are listed in the top 50 in the state, five are in the top 10 and seven more commits are in the top 25 in the state. Some of the recent commits:
John Chiles, 6'1/205lbs/4.4 40 time- recruited as an athlete, looks like he has the ability to play either QB or WR. Most likely will get a shot at QB and Ketchum has this guy rated as probably the best offensive playmaker in the state of Texas. Could be a very dymanic player at QB.
Malcolm Williams, 6'3/205lbs/4.4 40 time- ranked as the #1 WR prospect in the state, big time speed and great hands with outstanding play-making ability, lot of schools were after this kid.
Ahmard Howard, 6'4/240lbs/4.6 40 time- a stud TE prospect with his combination of size and speed, really has those 'freakish' physical skills and could challenge early next season for playing time at the TE spot.
Those are just some of the more recent commits and a few more are expected as UT prepares for their annual Spring Orange/White scrimmage this Saturday at 6pm. I'll definitely be there, hell it's free and you get a chance to see C. McCoy and J. Snead in live game action for the first time. Also some other position battles with players competing that should be interesting to watch. Will give a full update for all my fellow Horns fans out there who live to far away or can't make the scrimmage. I'm also going to try and bring my digital video recorder to tape the game and watch it several times later on. Keep up the good work Mack and company! :hat
