I'm just going to prime the pump here, because clearly I can't begin to do this the same justice that, say,ObiwanGinobili or SpursWoman could.

It actually looks pretty erotic from this end.
The head sticking out the other end kind of kills the stiffy though.

The sculpture is to appear next to a display case filled with anti-abortion materials. It was created by Daniel Edwards, who said he never spoke to the 24-year-old pop star or met her, and fashioned her face and figure from photographs.

It was sculpted by a guy. :lol He;s an idiot.
oh, and this is my fav. part:
The sculpture is to appear next to a display case filled with anti-abortion materials.......Asked whether he's anti-abortion, Edwards said, "You nailed me. I'm not saying that I am. I wouldn't march with either pro-life or pro-choice advocates. This is not meant to be political."
oh my god. :lol

What is more beautiful and innocent than childbirth?
If Britney had no knowledge or approval of this, then I truly feel bad for her in this case.
Not only is this "artist" seemingly picking on her, he's not even good enough to make it look like her.

Art is representational. It doesn't need to look like her. It's not a replica. The article says his works are considered to be both serious and yet preposterous/comical at the same time. It represents what he sees in a larger than life sort of way, not necessarily what we see. I wouldn't buy it, but I respect his right to create it.

I can respect that argument in general, but I don't buy it for this particular peice.
I would have more respect for the artist (although still think the sculpture is crap) if he didn't say it was Britney Spears. I don't see the creative necessity of giving it her name. Either he's a) just looking for cheap publicity or b) made a terrible likeness.
I guess he's got a right to create it in the same way others have a right to make terrible bobblehead dolls or horrible "custom McFarlane" figurines. (Granted, those are supposed to be representational and so can easily be criticized when they look nothing like their subjects.)
