Tom Arnold sold out in his book and he is confronted by Chris, Rodney Peete, Rob Dibble and Michael Strahan and it was like reality TV. Real world bitterrness on exhibit and the show ends painfully. :wow

I wonder if they will replay that. It was flat-out ugly.

Did Strahan boink Roseanne?

I just flipped it over to see if the Dallas Stars were going to be on and caught the last 10 minutes. I'm not sure if that was first run or not but it was brutally uncomfortable and Dibs and Peete had to jump on Tom and Michael to physically separate them. It looked like Strahan was either laying on the floor dinged up or at the least emotionally distraught.

Since Tom was replaced on the show (by Dibble), he wrote a book and told a bunch of inside stuff about his friends just for the money. Very sad.

Anybody know why Tom was replaced and what kinds of things did he say in his book?

they announced during the break that tom arnold has a new tell-all book

Solid D

I'll wait so that some others can see it before I give too many more details but he said something disparaging about John Salley, Rodney Peete, Rob Dibble and Michael Strahan. He really was tripping big-time. They had him surrounded and on a hook twisting like a worm.

Solid D
03-31-2006, 11:32 PM
How do you know he hurt his shoulder? They ended the show with Michael crawling on the floor sort of sobbing or acting hurt. It's hard to tell if he's just breaking down or what but it did not appear to be any kind of joke.

DisgruntledLionFan#54,927
03-31-2006, 11:33 PM
Nothing, but you can hear Strahan say, "Awwww, my shoulder. Fuckin' punk..."

Then they cut it...

what a coincidence the book is named True Lies

Solid D
03-31-2006, 11:41 PM
Well, I will tell you that the conversation leading up to the end was not fake emotions. Tom was jittery and shaking. He kept using the same lame excuse. "It's what I felt at the time".

Solid D

I didn't get the impression Tom did anything other than brush Strahan's face but Dibble laid on top of Strahan with his weight and twisted him awkwardly down and away while he was still in the chair.

Everything was done well until the little skirmish part. If Strahan was really pissed, he would of tossed RD aside and tore TA to pieces...

STRAHAN-ARNOLD FIGHT AN APRIL FOOL'S GAG

We've heard from several readers regarding a skirmish that broke out Friday on the set of FSN's The Best Mutherf--kin' Sports Show That Nobody Really Watches Anymore So How Do They Still Get "A" List Guests? On the show, Tom Arnold and Michael Strahan get into an argument that culminates in a Srpinger-style wrestling match. After the two are separated, Strahan complains of a shoulder injury.

When we first heard about the incident, we assumed that it was an April Fool's thing. But after watching the video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=vj0WDCLLd-g&search=michael strahan), we're weren't so sure.

Vinny DiTrani of the Bergen Record reports that the stunt was indeed an April Fool's set up (http://www.bergen.com/page.php?qstr=eXJpcnk3ZjczN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXkxMjAmZmdi ZWw3Zjd2cWVlRUV5eTY5MDgyMTEmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZU VFeXk2). Per DiTrani, coach Tom Coughlin and G.M. Ernie Accorsi were given a head's up earlier in the week regarding the phony fracas.

As it turns out, Arnold is a far better actor than he previously has shown. And Strahan has a future in Hollywood, too. (If, of course, any casting directors are ever looking for an oversized black man with a slight lisp and bad teeth.)

So if you missed Friday night’s episode of The Best Damn Sports Show (and how could you?), check about the above video. Tom Arnold and Michael Strahan get into kind of a little sissy chair fight. And Michael Strahan did not win. He’s on the ground making noises like he’s hurt, cursing at Arnold, who’s just sitting there, being sorta restrained by Rodney Peete. Strahan sounds like he’s in pain. I think Rob Dibble may have actually hurt him.

Now, I have somehow let myself get out of the loop when it comes to the politics and in-fighting on the set of the Best Damn Sports Show. But as a reader tells us, Tom Arnold left the show, he wrote a book published by Harper-Collins, and apparently some guys on the show didn’t like what he had to say in the book, and there was some beef.

And yes, I’m aware of the date on today’s calendar. There’s a very good chance that this was staged. I’ll make the case for both. First, the argument that it was real:

• Tom Arnold is shaking and looks visibly upset before the scuffle.
• I tend to doubt that Chris Rose, Rodney Peete, and Michael Strahan are that have that kind of acting capability. I’ve seen Strahan’s Right Guard commercial.
• The show didn’t come back on the air afterwards.
• Well, it just looks kinda real.

And now, the case that it was staged:

• It was the day before April Fools, and we all know how zany and madcap these guys can be.
• How does Michael Strahan left himself try to fight Tom Arnold? You set the NFL’s single season sack record, and you want a piece of Tom Arnold? Who’s next on your list, Paul from the Wonder Years?

I gotta tell ya, at this point, I’m leaning towards real. And I hope I’m right, because think of all the wonderful trash talk that could emerge from this that could be used against Michael Strahan. If you know any offensive linemen that play in the NFC East, please forward them this clip.

One of the better done April fool's pranks that I've seen. Everyone played their roles well.

I think it would have been even more believable if Strahan had gone after Tom Arnold first.

Rob Dibble and Chris Rose just talked about the "April Fool's" prank that Tom and Michael pulled. Then Tom came on and they showed a bunch of off-scenes stuff to explain the prank. The book was made up. Tom said he did crack a rib when Rodney got on him and pulled his arm. Rodney, Dibble didn't know. Chris Rose didn't know.

Solid D
04-03-2006, 11:47 PM
Chris knew it was a joke by Tom but he didn't know Strahan was in on it and he didn't know there was going to be a scuffle. Chris thought it was a real scuffle.

Strahan thought everyone knew and thought the other guys really were doing a good job of acting.

Solid D
04-03-2006, 11:57 PM
:lol That was pretty cool. Michael said all his friends were calling him saying they didn't sleep, they were so upset.

Serves Tom right for popping a rib on that prank. It got me...but at least it got the co-hosts too, so maybe I won't feel so pwn3d.

On the day before April 1 especially, you have to be really gullible to believe that was real. Aside from that if Michael Strahan was really going to fight Tom Arnold, he wouldn't try to slap his shirt sleeve, he would have picked up the chair and threw him into the audience.

For shame (some of you).

I will admit the prank worked on me and I can laugh about it, just as the co-hosts of the show were able to do.

Doing april fools jokes on the day before has become all the rage.

Major Example: Tool singer Maynard (an anti-conformity/religion kind of guy) quitting the band and finding jesus. HUGE uproar in the fan base... turns out, it was an alcoholic homeless man on the side of the road whos name was jesus that maynard had met. Freaked quite a few people out.

This tom thing was fairly well done, but i mean - who the hell is going to get hurt from the way they were 'hitting' each other? They were both still sitting down and for one guy to get injured? Especially a dude used to getting crushed by NFL players... They could of made it more believable - just ask Jerry Springer for some tips!
