Germany had win in a very beautiful match. With two amazing goals from Lahm and Frings. But when Wanchope scored his second goal he was in offside.

Wow. when did you noticed that?

Dudek and Frankowski. many fans were frickin mad at coach. Mad as hell!!! You don't want to know how polish 'fans' reacted on the last friendly game vs. Columbia.

If Poland would play the whole game like they played in l;ast 20 min it would be a different game. Not even coach didn't tok Dudek but he left Frankowski as well. A guy who was scoring machine off the bench.

Why did he put a 4-5-1 at the begining of a game?
Poland feels the best in 4-4-2

plus Jelen was in a good shape - why the fuck was he on the bench. He was the one whop was fighting. Shit :pctoss

I'm only pissed of he left Dudek and Frankowski, you do not leaving the guys wchich were a key to advancing to the World Cup.
You don't do that esp. because of chemistry.

You know Boruc is not a bad goalkeeper, but Dudek is more expierienced dammit.

It may seem harder to play the German Squad... but it's not... you all play a very similar style and would have a chance... playing against Ecuador was a clash of styles and they prevailed. If you all just play like you all did in the last 20 minutes of the Ecuador game; Poland has a chance of beating Germany....

1. Our best player has not played yet, so there is still room for improvement.
2. Frings scored goals like that in the past, so it was definetly no fluke.

Its Messi time.

Riquelme, Cambiasso, Sorin, Crespo they should all be playing better.

Drogba is being well contained by our defense but IC is playing very well, attacking with many players.

Argentina is not playing really well, not to justify this difference at least. But a win is a win, this is just the first game.

well, we do have plenty of talented attackers, and the team was doing just fine in this game, at least on the scoring side. What we need now is a new defensive strategy. IC players were cutting through our defence like knife through butter, and that is not acceptable.

They're playing it safe. He has been out for a long time, with a lingering injury that demands caution. Had the situation required it, I'm sure he would have played. Since Argentina was on top the whole match, then they saved him and he has almost a full week to get in rythm.

mah, i guess what bothered me the most about Saviola's & Sorin's "fall" was that it wasn't even your typical "i'm near the penalty box, let me fall and see if i can get something" flop, it didn't bring any significant advantage to their team - almost like a flop for the sake of flopping. And it could backfire on Argentina, if the refs get warned about argentina's tendencies upon reviewing the tapes.

anyway a win is a win.

S&M finnished 1st in their group ahead of Spain, Bosnia, Belgium, Lithuania and San Marino. Won 6 draw 4, no defeats, 16 goals scored only 1 (!) received.

I still remember him rolling down the ground in the 1998 WC as if Ortega had struck him with an iron or something, when he barely touched him... shame on Ortega for being an idiot, but van der Sar should have gotten an Oscar for his acting performance.

Since you either are Dutch, or you root for the Netherlands (considering van Gaal is your avatar, and van der Sar is your signature), what do you have to say about one of the most infamous floppers in the world, Arjen Robben? does your judgement extend to him as well?

There are at least 20 people on the Mexican squad that Blanco, even at this stage in his career, is still better than... particularly the coach's son-in-law, who can't even find playing time on his club team....

The heart of the matter stemmed from a personal-made-public feud between the coach and Blanco... The coach stepped his foot down and 'won' the argument by not selecting Blanco... he may have hurt his own cause in the long run... especially when he faces the Argentinas' or the Netherlands' of the tournament.

Even a hurt Blanco will generate at least two or three options for goal every game he sets foot on the field. That is why you take him.

What time does the US play
18:00 Central European Time (GMT +2). I believe it would be 11:00 in San Antonio.

Here's the schedule for the first round (http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/w/calendar.html).

Keep in mind it's in the Central European Time Zone (GMT +2), so you have to make the conversion to your local time first.

For instance, in Buenos Aires (GMT -3) you would have to add -3 - (+2) = -5 to the time listed, so if a game is listed at 18:00 hs, then it's at 13:00 over here.

According to my calculations, in San Antonio (GMT -5) you would have to add -5 - (+2) = -7 to the time listed, so if a game is listed at 18:00 hs, then it'd be at 11:00 over there.

If you don't feel like making conversions, this site (http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/europe/european-union/germany/) should automatically detect your Time Zone and do it for you.

i cant believe this. on todays ESPN sportsnation poll, all the states in the US voted for not watching the US and Czech Republic. I wish this nation had more passion for soccer like all the other countries.

i completely agree. the majority of the world considers this a major sport. for whatever reason, the states have shunned it. one of the biggest events in the world for sure. i too wish that more americans would get into it. plus, its more exciting than baseball to me (but go stros).

Standard time, yes, but isn't currently summer time in use? That's GMT+2. Besides, it has to be that way, because here it's GMT-3 and it's a 5 hours difference, so...

Australia 3- 1 Japan

Great game, perhaps the best game on this WC for now. It should be 3-0, because there was foul on Schwarzer. Cahil played great, if he would be in the game from the start Australia would win by more goals. Go Australia GO!!

In one hour the game betwen USA and Czech Republic will start. I think that it is going to be be very tough game to win for USA or Czech Republic, so I say the score will be 2-2.

are you serious!?? The whole game Australia played like CRAP! and then in 10 minutes or so they score 3 goals. The result is going to go a long way to cover how bad Australia really is. Brasil is going to go for broke on the 18th, I'm predicting a 6 - 0 win for Brasil, and I'm being lenient. Australia has a well organized team, with good passing skills and a solid defence, but when it comes to individual talent of their forwards, its practically not there.

Japan... what can I say? its becoming clear exactly how corrupted the officiating was in 2002 for this team to have made it that far.

Still a win is a win, and I have to say the last 10 minutes showed real heart from the Aussies and some fucked up mistakes from Japan. All in all the team that deserved it won. Having said that, this game is meaningless, neither team is making it out of group E.

P.S. WTF are Aloisi and Cahill doing on the bench???

Australia didn`t play like crap. They had a lot of chances but Kawaguchi was saving everything. Don`t be so sure that Brazil will win by 6 goals because they have a good team and if they are going to play like today (specially in defense), the can surprise Brazil.

im australian and i betted against the aussies, but damn the japs gas out at the end imo, and dude shouldve scored on many occasions, same with the australian team who had many chances in the first half.

That first goal imo was not a foul, you got two aussie defenders who didnt even bother to jump up when they were in the pack with the other 2, they cannot expect the goalie to run out and try n beat the other 2 japs headin for the ball.

great game? no

stupidest prediction man, this australian squad has shown they can beat many good quality teams, they can either stick around for a draw or go on the offensive, only problem is they tend to get redheaded and go ahead of themselves or wannab showponies to score a goal. when they lead they usually gloat n boasts alot and give up the lead on many occasions.

tHEY ARE not pushovers like the kiwis who loss to the brasil team 4-0 :D:D

yeh im callin out the kiwis here :D:D

australia has many good players, just that guus is either usin the wrong players in position, viduka is as shit as ruud van nisteroy, cant even dribble a ball if his life depended on it (they are spot up shooters). i rather prefer bresiano to take spot kicks instead of freekicks, that should be left to skoko :D:D, then you got our wing players who imo think are shit, expecially emerton who cant do shit besides lookin big and runnin only, i prefer to have lazarides on the right wing.

:lmao at you thinking AUstralia has a chance in hell at beating Brasil http://spurstalk.com/forums/images/smilies/smilol.gif Why do you think Australia was losing up to minute 39' of the second half?? They played like crap and the only reason they didn't get blown out before then is because Japan is just as bad.

Brasil is going to kill Australia, but perhaps you're right, and Brasil takes it easy, a 3 - o outing shoudl be enough.

dude didnt even put much effort in tryin to go for the ball imo, he only ran out with one hand :(:(, his more of a passive defensive goalie compared to kolak who attacks the ball without fear.

the only i can say is, fuck this australia won, now i gotto stick up with media riding their nutts, even the analsts were talkin about those 2 cahill goals should be goal of the tournaments, and im laughin me ass off. they are as worst as the guys who do bball on espn, freakn bias analysts.

my problem with this australian team is they got certain players who stand around doin nothing or not tryin hard enough to go after the ball and attackin without fear. They either play to conservative or to passive imo.

japan had many chances to win this game or either tie it in the second half, they had many opportunities close range to score, but kept on passin n shit. nakata played a good game today. australia lookd dull cose i dont think they can match the speed and intencity of the japanese team who were counter attackin on many occassions, and spreading the field out when the wing players kept on gettin the ball into the box, and the australian defernders were to slow to get back of didnt manned up.
