LAURA BUSH SAYS HILLARY KEPT BAD HOUSE; WEST WING DECORATIONS WERE GAUDY, OUTDATED

First Lady Laura Bush believes Hillary Clinton did not keep good house during her time as first lady, a new book will charge.

Ron Kessler, a former investigative reporter for the WASHINGTON POST and the WALL STREET JOURNAL, is set to unleash his account of Laura Bush.

On December 18, 2000, just after the Supreme Court ruled on the election, Hillary Clinton gave Laura Bush a tour of the White House. The incoming-First Lady was dismayed at what she saw: Not only were carpets and furnishings fraying and in disrepair in the West Wing and public areas, the Oval Office was done in loud colors—red, blue, and gold! The East Wing was cut up into small offices and had exposed electrical conduits. Many of the furnishings looked dated.

Laura Bush noted how the Lincoln Bedroom looked worn out.

Laura was appalled at the way the Clintons left the White House and Hillary Clinton's gaudy, outdated taste in decorating, reveals the new book, LAURA BUSH: AN INTIMATE PORTRAIT.

The book, which will be published by DOUBLEDAY on Tuesday, is the only book to be written about Laura Bush with White House cooperation.

Elsewhere in AN INTIMATE PORTRAIT: After NEWSWEEK ran a Periscope item claiming the U.S. military had flushed a Koran down a toilet, leading to rioting, Laura ordered: "I don't want NEWSWEEK around the house!"

Laura Bush became so disgusted with the media and their war against her husband that at one point, she told her public relations person Noelia Rodriguez she did not want to do any more media interviews. After about a month, she slowly resumed talking to the press.

A close friend of Laura's, Pamela Nelson, asks Laura how she's doing. Laura replies, "Well, it's the Kitty Kelly book and Dan Rather this week..."

Nancy Weiss, a Bush family intimate, told Kessler, "She torments herself by reading the WASHINGTON POST and the NEW YORK TIMES, " and added, "A Texas Monthly article (based on a book by a Washington Post reporter ) said she is a 'bad mom.' She handles it calmly but I can tell things like that do upset her."

Hillary worries about getting all Americans health care; Laura is most concerned about her drapes.

And that, my fellow Americans, illustrates the difference between liberals and conservatives.

Hillary has political dreams, Laura Bush doesn't.

Oh God...

You know... If Dan Actually had a valid original political thought... (that is like 4 contradictions in one sentence fragment) I think my head might explode.

So what did she do about it? Introduce some Midland chic?

A couple of mounted deer heads and a "singin' bass"?

George is just an average Joe if I remember correctly. :angel

The Joker, err..Laura Bush is all about appearance and not substance. Nothing like spending her, err..the American's taxpayers money on White House decorations.

Reagan had an excuse in the end, but leave it to you to pick on someone who
cant defend himself. He made all the dimm-o-craps look what they were: stupid.
Just like Bush does and so did Delay. He will still have his day. And Bush is still
having his, making you all look what you are, silly.

In the end yes, but not while he was in office. Delay made himself look stupid thinking his shit didn't stink.

Listen, I admit here all the time that democrats are not perfect, far from it.
But your blind loyalty to Bush and DeLay is beyond me.
Please tell me you agree that they've both made mistakes or are you unwilling to take that small step into reality?

^^On Bush, I don't know of many mistakes the man has made. Maybe you think
he lied to you, but I don't think he lied to me. He has told me, from the very
beginning what he was going to do, now maybe you didn't listen to the same speeches,
I don't know. He took the best information he had and acted on it. He gave all that
information to Congress, he didn't rush into Iraq, he took years to finally invade.
And Yes I do believe they had WMD, he used them several times, he would not
allow anyone into his country to prove he had rid it of WMD, why? He had amble
time to hid/move WMD and some claim he did, he did have ties to terrorist, he
gave money to them, publicly. Bush also told us that there would be much going
on that was not visible and would not be available to the public. I could go on
but it would serve no purpose.

About Delay, yep, the man got to big for his pants. He should have kept his
place in DC and not come down to Texas and messed around at the State level, and do his thing like the Dimms, through back room meetings.

I don't blindly follow anyone, I am to damn old and onary. I don't agree with
Bush on all matters and do express that fact to him through the mail system
(Or e-mail) also address my Senators about issues. I don't write my
Congressman, because he is a dimm-o-crap in the true sense of the word, just
like his old Daddy. My Congressman is lazy, inept and incompetent. But he
is Hispanic, dimm-o-crap and most of those in his district are. My bad luck and
their good luck. But times are changing.

I don't write my repulican reps either but they are white, repugnants and you are right. My BAD luck and times are a changing my friend..oh yeah baby!!!

It's been proven to me anyways that Bush was going to war against Iraq no matter what. He's just going to leave a mess for the next President to have to clean up.

When Powell told him "If you break it, you own it.", he probably said "Damn right." That is how Bush is, very strong headed and it does 'cause him to make errors in his judgement. But that is just me.

In Republican speak, that's called 'standing on principle'.

"Bush is, very strong headed"

dubya is weak-headed. His failure to master English, his simplistic sentences and grammar, his intellectual limitations, his lack of curiosity and creativity, all indicate an extremely limited individual, which is how Repug power-moniger like their presidents, stupid enough to be easily manipulable and ignorant of being manipulated.

As dubya is a stain the on the history of the presidency, he is also a stain on the reputations of Yale and Harvard, who admitted and wafted him through as an affirmative-action basket-case.

The sad thing about this quote, is that Bush really did make the Democrats look stupid
