negra modelo and carte blanca are both really good. as is amber bock and yuengling
but im looking for a direct comparison between busch (the annheuser busch knockoff) and bud.

Bud Light is way too watered down and Busch is shit. If I'm drinking dirt cheap, which I usually am, I'm grabbing me three 40s of Olde English. If I'm drinking cheap I'll go with Pabst Blue Ribbon. If I'm spending a little but not a whole lot I'm drinking Budweiser. They don't call it the King of Beers for nothing. If I'm going to max out my spending on beer I'm going with Heineken.

busch (the annheuser busch knockoff).

Busch isn't a knock-off of Anheuser Busch, it's made by Anheuser Busch ... :wtf

I don't really drink beer and when I do it's Miller Time ... but if I were forced to pick one, I'd pick Busch. :tu :lol

Really, regular Miller is close enough in price you can convince yourself you aren't bumlike in your choice of drink.

midgetonadonkey
04-03-2006, 08:45 PM
Nothing wrong with drinking bum like. In Corpus I used to have to beat the homeless guys to the store or they would buy up all the 40s.

sorry i phrased that wrong
i meant to say knock off bud
i used to realy really like budweiser but it makes me so damn full. then i found busch and it opened up a whole new world. its my fav daily beer. not my fav but def my fav for drinking all the time. i cant afford to drink yuengling/amber bock on a daily basis. or i'd be in even more debt :elephant

I thought that's what you meant after I re-read it. :)

If you're going to the low-end of the big brands ... I'd say Busch is better than Miller High Life, too. :tu

miller in general is gross
ill drink it after ive had a few but i really dont care for it at all
i'd say busch or natty light are the best cheap beers
and then if you buy the "ice" version...busch ice is like 5.9%

None of the above. American beer is nasty.

SpursWoman

The worst I've ever had was Milwaukee's Best. We have spaghetti stories about that nasty shit ... I don't care that you can get 5 cases for $10 or whatever, it's just not worth it. I'd rather drink Listerine.

:vomit: :lol

For the most part you're right. However, there are some really good brews made by some of the smaller companies that are probably as good as the Euro beers. But if all you want to do is get drunk, then it really doesn't matte what you drink. Actually, try Steel Reserve malt liquor, it's like 9% alcohol.

Let me rephrase: American large scale mass-produced beers suck. You are right, there are some fine craft beers around.

Schneider Aventinus Eisbock is 12% alky. Sort of takes your breath away, and after the first couple of sips you're not tasting anything anyway. :drunk

I've always wanted to try Sparks Malt Liquor. It's 8% alcohol and has caffeine. Too bad the only store I've seen that carries it charges 8 bucks for a 6 pack of pints. Fuck paying 8 bucks for malt liquor. I can get a 12 pack of Steel Reserve for 6 dollars at HEB.

I need a hand. There was a beer that used to be made in Texas, started with an A(I think), light hint of citrus, kind of like Hoegaarden or Blue Moon...

It's made by a Michigan Brewing Co. now and I can't find it because I don't remember the name...

celis white?
doh. too late. celis shut down here in austin a few years ago. they were ok, they also had a clint eastwood beer called pale rider ale. if i'm gonna go with a wheat beer i usually go with franziskaner or hacker pschorr hefeweizen, or a echter or hacker pschorr dunkel weisse. dark wheat beers are great!

Spend a few extra bucks, crack open some Heinekens and drink enough to get the beer past the neck. Then pour a shot of jager down in there everytime and let the good times roll..

Yes Vashee. It is Kronenbourg 1664 and it's a damn good beer. Too bad they don't sell it in TX. :depressed

You might get it at a liquor store or like Chesters Burgers. They have a huge collection.

I don't live in SA unfortunately. I'm up in FW and I have looked at Majestic Liquors, King Liquors and Central Market (that's where I was told that Kronenbourg is no longer sold in TX). A friend of mine brought some from Cali and I fell in love w/ it. I used to get regular Kro at a little place called "Pop-a-Top" in Edinburg, but they closed down.

I'm still a Shiner Bock fan.

And on a hot, hot day there's nothing better than an ice cold Corona and lime. Not a beer really, more like a limeade with a slight beer after-taste.

Has anyone ever had this? Corona Cerveza de Barril - we would buy this stuff in Reynosa and Camargo across the border. Anyway, not skunky but very heavy on the stomach. not one of my favorite Mexican beers.
