hey be a fan and support the team. we just had an awful night. its not like we're goin for an undefeated season
I know, but I watched the Comcast cable game with Reynolds and Napear and it pissed me off that they proclaimed themselves worldbeaters tonight. And then I hear all of the smack on their "Party Train" postgame show on KHTK.

No big deal it was a Back to Back you will have none in the playoffs.
I wish this would solve the problems but some spurs just have to nut up

it was just that we had 2 curses stacked on us.
the back2back curse and the "bill the tool walton" curse

Whoa, hold up a second...
The name of their postgame show is Party Train? That's gotdamn hilarious... :lol
Oh, and B2B is a weak excuse. The Spurs played like shit, deserved to lose. One game, no big deal...

Well give Sac some credit they saved all of their shooting touch just to use it on the Spurs. We should take that as an honor!

There is no team in the West that's going to beat you guys in seven games. That is a fact as poorly as they play back to backs.

In other news ... back to the Spurs ...
This has to be probably the 4th or 5th-worst game the boys played all season. The worst were: the Lakers game a couple of weeks ago, both Detroit games, tonight's debacle, and ... any others? Perhaps the Wizards game back in Nov.
Right now, I'm not liking our chances against Detroit in the Finals. (And it will be us and Detroit in the Finals.) They've been better all season.
All for now ...

You do know that the Spurs will probably lose at least one game during the playoffs?

The kings didn't exactly play last night, we could have done the same had we put away Utah.

Sacramento did the two things you have to do to beat San Antonio.
1. Take away Tony Parker's penetration.
2. Rotate on defense.
Throw in a couple of offensive rebounds and you beat San Antonio every time.
Simple.

That was the worst display of basketball by the Spurs I have seen this season. I was hoping Pop chewed them out during half time, but I guess he didn't have much to say. If they play like this in the first round of the playoffs, we can forget a repeat.
The bright side to this game is that, (true!) no one was injured to seriously. Parker was not banged up to bad and it was probably a good idea to just take him out for the rest of the game. He will need his rest for Friday. Second, the Spurs have not been successful with back2back games anyway. Third, hopefully this will act as a wakeup call for their playoff appearance against the Kings and they can think about how they can regroup or as I like to put it (get their shit together!).
I think this game was cause for the Spurs to wake up and get their a-game back for Friday. Let’s take care of that rock and shove it down the Mavs throats on Friday! It wouldn't hurt to have home court advantage in the West.

Boy, how many playoff runs have you been with the Spurs?
Many my friend. The first playoff I went to was Game 5 of the 1983 WCF against the Lakers. I saw Gilmore and Gervin put an ass kicking on Magic and Kareem from the Loge section of the Forum.
I was just saying that it was a subpar effort tonight.

you know what
i dont really care about tonights loss
i believe we've got the #1 seed wrapped up and the kings aren't a real threat for the first round.
the only thing that slightly bothers me is that the season is almost over and we aren't even close to playoff form yet, but hopefully when the playoffs actually start these guys will play with more motivation

i know seriously, had this been 2 weeks ago i woulda done a 4 paragraph rant on how we got out rebounded and how we are less than 2 weeks from the playoffs and we lost to a barely #8 seed on our home floor who have more of an excuse to be tired than we do!
but no
i wont say that
:blah
whatever, its a b2b, i'll get worried when detroit is on the floor against us not the C grade Kings

Just got back from the game... boy was that bizarre. The refs completely sucked ass, although that's obviously not why the Spurs lost. I was really hoping that Pop would get a second T and get thrown out of the game. Anything to fire the team up. The calls were so choppy that it was very difficult for the Spurs to get into any rhythm. Tony and Manu were clearly tired as hell. What time did they get in last night? 3am?
The one thing I really found interesting was the Kings had their starters in til the very last second of the game. We had our scrubs in the last couple of minutes and the Kings looked to have the game in hand, so why have all of your starters still on the floor?

well duh, artest and bowen defensively could make a good argument but he is 1000 times the player Bowen is offensively so at the end of the day i dont think anyone can argue with the "artest> bowen" theory

hahahahahahahahahahaha, the kings were on a back to back too and they were on the road for both games...way to go spurs, bow down to the kings!!! it's hilarious how the poster above is complaining about the officiating, typical bail-out excuses...here's a thought, maybe it was just the case that parker folded just like he did back during the spurs/nets finals and speedy had to take over...maybe the spurs got SPURSpwned!!!

My one fear is game 7 and guess who is the ref and who gets three quick fouls in a finals series.
Nies has an agenda - did not cost this game but one wonders if TD did not say something snide to him or something because this is so obvious to see it borders on the sublime.

Yawn, I'm ready and I'll be at the game. We've had some injuries but are now getting back to form. If we beat you guys w/o two of our starters I'm going to call the Spurs the laughingstock of Texas.

I think that Nies does have a grudge against Tim and swallowed his whistles on several plays where Tim was clearly fouled. Yet he didn't hesitate to call Tim for ticky tack fouls.
But no, I don't think we lost the game due to the refs. Their inconsistent calls/no calls did not help, but this one is ours. Our team didn't show up. It happens. We are still on track to have the best regular season in franchise history though. It's time to let this go and move on to the bloodfest on friday with the Mavs. :lol

Well, Kings weren't.
All the season spurs are tired.
I would like to see the starting 5 comepiting in a playoff game in 40+ minutes while in a regular they are playing below 35 minutes.
But now, hmmm it's just April

What the heck was that display tonight? I don't care about back-to-backs. You guys let the Jazz get back in it last night and now you paid for it. Living here in Sacto, I know that the Kings are ripe to fall apart at any time. And the team did not made one friken run tonight? Think guys, this might be your 1st round opponent. :depressed
Great point. In fact, Finley was quoted saying as much after the loss. They had an opporutnity to rest the starters in Utah, but allowed the Jazz to make it close. Therefore, the starters did not get any rest. Damn shame!
I'm not taking anything away from the Spurs because they and Detroit are still tops in the league in point differential, but truly great teams know how to "stomp on" and "squeeze" inferior teams. This allows older, veteran teams (like the Spurs) to get much-needed rest.
The Lakers and Celtics of the 80's, the Bulls of the 90's were all very good at doing just that.
