not likely, but you never know.

Sounds as far-fetched as New Jersey-San Antonio in 2003.

Man, that would really suck. Having the Nets make it out of the East would make being knocked out by the Mavs even worse, cause I know we could beat Nets.

I would feel the same way if the Nets beat the Pistons. It would be the biggest letdown in history of this franchise.

maybe dallas, but i think detroit can take down the nets in a seven game series.

i know everyone is talking about the nets and thier recent hot streak but without a good frontcourt they are not gonna win anything. they are basically relying on three guys and that wont win the championship, not even the east.

Nets are going nowhere like RON ARTEST said.

They don't scare me at all. I'd go even as far as to say, the "great regular season" mode Mavs can sweep them in a playoff series. That one game they had was just a momentary afternoon abberation.

I wouldn't bet on it but stranger things have happened.

I couldn't agree more, but the Nets broke the Pistons 8-game winning streak in New Jersey. They absorbed one of the great performances by Billups this season.

The Pistons hadn't lost in Detroit since January 6th until New Jersey beat them at the Pistons game - a defensive slugfest. With four of the Pistons five starters in place, they swept the Pistons in 2003. The only time the Pistons faced elimination in 2004, guess what? The New Jersey Nets put them there.

I don't fear the Nets, but the Nets don't fear the Pistons. Combine that with a team that has won 14 straight games and experience winning in the postseason with these guys, and that makes them a legitimate distant contender. They have a better chance than a Washington or a Cleveland or any other team not named Miami and Detroit.

I like the Pistons chances to win the Championship this season, but it's not like this poster is suggesting that Chicago and Sacramento will be in the Finals.

Kind of reminds me when the spurs beat the mavs in the conf finals 3 years ago....the spurs were the better team, but it pained me to watch the nets have a chance to play for the title when I know the mavs would also have handled them if they could've got passed the spurs.

Mavs have a chance but Nets 0 so the combination is not possilbe.

They can get the guy who shot Julius Hodge, and get him tp shoot Rasheed, Shaq, Wade, and Wallace'
