I am trying to get some tickets to go to Orlando in June. Anybody know of any promotional codes I can use?

I am trying to get a good deal. Like the 4 of us for less than 1K.

????

Send me a pm if you know of anything

Don't have any codes - but I'd recommend signing up for "Ding!" from Southwest airlines. They have "in the next X hours" types sales all day (usually 2-3 per day).

You can try priceline.com and give it $250/ticket. You need to be very flexible with your travel times tho, all you will know when you lock in the tickets are the dates of travel. Flight times can start anytime between 6AM and 10PM ...

www.bestfares.com is a good resource, too. Try the "Quickfare finder" which also lists alternate airports. How about SAT to Tampa (80 miles from Orlando) for $168 on Continental or $198 on American?

Did you stop to put pen to paper on costs of fuel for driving there yet?

$243 per person if you drive to Houston. Lowest out of San Antonio is around $350 per person.

About 500 round trip, but 4 days worth of driving time. That is what I am trying to prevent.

You can usually get better prices on flights out of Houston as opposed to San Antonio. When my friend and I go to Las Vegas we always fly out of Houston because it's always been cheaper. Try Austin, too, although that's usually higher, sometimes you can find really low fares out of there for some reason. A woman I work with flew to San Diego right before Christmas and she paid $99 one way if she flew from Austin (best deal out of San Antonio at the time was around $175 one way).

Like I said, if you can fly to Tampa instead of Orlando (and rent a car in Tampa - you're going to rent one anyway, right?) you can get there for less than $200pp before taxes. I threw together an itinerary leaving Jun 14, returning a week later, total price for four adults including taxes was $814. May be a few $$ cheaper if your kids are young. Tampa:Orlando as Austin:SA in terms of distance.

Travelocity's "flexible dates" option is great for this purpose.

actually, there is a flight from SA to Orlando. That is how I got to Philly up here in January. SA to Orlando, Orlando Philly. It's a nice flight. Southwest rules!

And "only" $365pp for flights in June after you add all the various taxes and such.
