Tiebreaker

Sorry for asking, I know this has been discussed many times but I can't find it. On the ESPN page it says conference record is the 2nd tiebreaker, but I remember seeing in the Express a column talking about division record. It looks like as long as we beat Houston we'll have the same division record and a better conference record.

Of course I am watching this, but I would much rather play the Lakers than the Kings first round.

That is incorrect. The format has change, where divisional record comes before conf record.

Two-Team Tie-breaker
1. Better record in head-to-head games
2. Higher winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division)
3. Higher winning percentage in conference games
4. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference
5. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in opposite conference
6. Higher point differential between points scored and points allowed

Which one is correct? The ESPN one is from this year, the one on the Spurs site is from 2005.

The official NBA site from this year's playoff picture says H2H and then Conference. They don't even mention division.

If we beat Houston in the last game of the season, we have the tiebraker with the mavs

We are 2-2 in the H2H
The Mavs are 13-3 in the Division and we are 12-3
We are 39-10 in the Conference and Dallas 36-12

We have 1 game left in the division and Dallas not

d. Better winning percentage against playoff opponents in own conference.
e. Better winning percentage against playoff opponents in opposite conference.
f. Better point differential between offense and defense.

MORE THAN TWO TEAMS TIED
a. If applicable, division champions must be determined first.
b. Best cumulative winning percentage in total games involving all teams tied.
c. Best winning percentage within own division (only if tied teams are in same division).
d. Best winning percentage within own conference.
e. Best winning percentage against playoff opponents in own conference.
f. Best point differential between offense and defense.
