Center Michael Olowkandi was the Wolves' biggest disappointment last season, a free-agent acquisition who never did shed his Clipper-itis. The 7-footer had left knee surgery on the brink of camp, struggled physically after missing the entire preseason, underwent surgery on his right knee in December and showed only in flashes the potential that is flickering more dimly these days.
"Last year was terrible, because the poor kid wasn't healthy," agent Bill Duffy said. "You're not healthy, you can't perform, but people don't want to hear that. The onus is on him now to go in there and play the way he can." Olowokandi had surgery again this summer, Duffy confirmed, but the agent labeled it minor and said it should be no factor on the big man's preseason.
