I think that firing Bob Hill was defiently a bad move. With David coming back tonight things were looking good. So the Spurs have a 3-15 record so far. We have only played 18 games and they have all been without Da
vid. Look at what Bob has done the past two years with a full roster. Bob truly is one of the best coaches in the league and to fire him because of a bad start is to say that something smells funny here at the least. This team is going to play better with David and Bob should be around to coach this team to the Finals. Greg this was a dumb move. Would you have done this to Phil Jackson?

The Spurs don't need Duncan when they all ready have
Robinson and Will. They need to pick up a point guard

Ladies and Gentlemen.. the next NOSTRADAMUS

I guess you missed this part..

The Spurs have be battling injuries all year, but the loss of David was more than significant. It really focused attention on the Spurs weakness, the power forward. Tony Battie or Tim Duncan would be a welcome addition to the Spurs, and would bring in the young versitle talent that the Spurs lack.
The Spurs should look for a power forward, at all costs.

By the way, I think that was 89 - 90. David and Seans rookie years, and also the infamous year Rod Strickland tried that no look pass to Elliott in the corner and lost the series to Portland. (unless I am mistaken)

I bet this post is a kick in the nuts to Michael Harmon...

Why should the Spurs even try to make the playoffs? They've finally got another great shot at a marquee player as they did in the 87-88 Lottery with David Robinson. Tim Duncan next to David Robinson is a combination hard to beat. The Spurs could als o have a chance at a young exciting point guard which they don't have. The Spurs need to realize that Avery Johnson is not going to take this team anywhere - and to cut it out with the "Brother-In-Law" attitude of keeping players because they're "Good Gu ys".

Where I saw my first game. Back when the baseline bums were loud and mattered :depressed

We sat right next to them and this one really fat guy was waving a huge Spurs logo flag and they were throwing beer cups and stuff at the opposing team, since they were right above the entrance to the locker room. Someone almost got Dominique Wilkins, I remember. Man, the baseline bums used to be the biggest advantage that the Spurs really had on their homecourt.

Right. Them, and that little band that used to play on the platform hanging off the balcony. They were fantastic and I sure miss them. I think doing away with the live music in arenas and the organ players in baseball parks was a big mistake. They gave sport a whole different atmosphere.

Holy shit. Zarko actually has a huge entry in the Wikipedia! http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/images/smilies/smirollin.gif

Heart problems

In March 2001 Paspalj suffered a serious heart attack while playing recreational football in Athens, and was hospitalised for several weeks. He suffered a second heart attack in July 2001, but battled to regain his health.

In the fall of 2005, during a disscusion on RTS television regarding coronary issues, he stated that 2 heart attacks weren't enough to force him into quiting smoking or into substantially changing his lifestyle.
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/images/smilies2/pppidiot.png
[edit]

Role on the Serbia-Montenegro bench

In early 2004 he became Team Manager for the Serbia-Montenegro national squad, working under Head Coach Zeljko Obradovic. The most important part of Paspalj's job was help creating the right atmosphere by acting as liason between the coach and the players. Obviously, the thinking was that such a well-liked former player would have a soothing effect on the damaged inter-squad relations. Paspalj was also entrusted with the role of convincing different players, especially ones from the NBA, to come play for the national team.

Unfortunatelly, his time at the post coincided with two of the team's worst performances in recent history as S&M finished 11th (out of 12 squads) at the 2004 Athens Olympics and then failed to reach the quarter-finals of the 2005 European Championships, held on home ground in Belgrade.
[edit]

Paspalj the businessman

Paspalj also decided to try his hand at business by investing heavily in the ambitious Aqua Park project in New Belgrade's Blok 44. As of late 2005, the project is in early construction phase on a huge site near Sava river.

I know this assumes a lot from Parker, but he hasn't shown me anything negative yet. If it turns out he isn't ready, then so be it. But Daniels is not as effective running the point as he is at the 2. Maybe he'll play the 1 for parts of games, but he should not be the starting 1.

Bring Smith off the bench. Keep his knees healthy. I'd be happy with a 9mil bench player if he can average 15-18 pts on 12-15 shots a game in 30 minutes. Let him be the zone buster that everybody said Alan Houston would be if he was a Spur.

Ice,

If you'll notice, I said:
1. AFTER the all-star break and,
2. It's what I would like to see if he is ready

Parker is not a typical rookie. He's been playing pro ball for two years already at point in a half-court oriented offense. He's already a playmaker. I'm not saying he should be starting right away, but let's not sell him short. Give him a chance, and he might suprise you.

I agree.....everyone can see im REALLY HIGH on TP2 here

but he is not ready to start

he will get 10-15 minutes a game off the bench according to POP and should be able to contribute some and learn a lot this season

Hmm....SSmith is not going to the bench in SA.

Bowen would before him.
