I know its not a true throwback, its custom, but is the design throwback to something the Spurs may have used before?

This is the closest throwback to that.

Question: in order to be a true throwback, shouldn't it read

San Antonio
512

???

I think it represents the city and area code.

The Spurs actually used to wear a jersey with those colors in the 73 preseason, but they were blue on red instead of vice-versa...

Agreed.

Oh, yeah, it's a lot better looking than if it had "New Orleans" or "San Diego" or "Miami" on it! The words "San Antonio" have the prettiest letters of any metropolitan-area-of-similar-population's name!

ya know,

I don't understand why people redicule him so much because he loves this city.

Yeah yeah yeah you dont hate the city, but he takes it too far.

So what, he loves the city where he lives.

He loves it enough to care, and you people give him shit for it.

God look in a mirror people.

I don't have a problem with him loving the city. What I have a problem with is how he ridicules and childishly tries to degrade those who don't share the sentiment.

I knew I had seen that color of jesery before.

I wasn't sure if it were all blue like the first one I posted or all red.

Why couldn't those have been our throwbacks and not those really shitty silver things.

P.S.

I posted the pic because of the jersey, not because some local rapper had 210 as the number.

I think Angelo Drossos had his Aunt Matilda sew them together from old CYO togs until he came up with the scratch for real unis.

If the Spurs are going to try the throwback unis again, they should go with the black ones with "San Antonio" on the front. Those look solid. Otherwise, forget it. The silver ones they had last season or the one before sucked.

I think the Spurs thought so too - that's why we haven't seen them since.

The Spurs are all about branding, so I don't even think a "San Antonio" jersey would fly.

I would like the gray, not shiny silver, jersey with "San Antonio" on it.

I just got a Jersey from Academy but it is like an alternate or something it only has black and white. And it is stitched, they just got them in but I have never seen them before. I will post a pic later but they are very nice.

The problem is when any outsider criticizes his stance, he has a fucking coronary. Look at the Saints fiasco, for starters.

He's as big a homer for the city as you are for the team.

Is it one of those black jerseys that they made for every NBA team?
