View Full Version : Spurs vs Rockets Game Blog -- 63?

I don't know if everyone is aware but a group of fans from the forum went to Houston for this game -- Angel Luv, Rashofan, SpursChick, Silver21_Black20, enigma, KEDA and more.

Angel messaged me a little while ago saying that Rasho walked by them and said Hi, How are you? and now she's swooning over it. :lmao

Anyway, the game is pretty irrelevant other than the possible 63rd win, but it's cool that SpursTalk is being represented at the Toyota Center tonight.

when she comes back and posts her synapsis of the game, that particular incident will need 4 paragraphs at least. book it!

Well bury my shell at wounded knee. I almost played NCAA right through another spurs game.

Wow, lotta spurstalkers at the game, that's fuckin great. Way to represent.
Is TPark going to be given free front row seating and a chance to win alot of money by shooting a halfcourt shot too? He's overdue for that anyways.

They have signs with them, but they weren't holding them up. They were just casually scanning the crowd and caught Beckie putting on her lipgloss.

I think, with guys like Beno, there's still a need to have some proof that he can handle pressure, regardless of the game. He lost his place in the rotation during the Finals because he couldn't deal with the pressure the Pistons put on him. He struggled with the pressure the Nuggets applied in Round 1 -- particularly at the end of the first half of Game 1 of that series. I'd say that if Beno is struggling with making decisions against pressure in a meaningless game against end-of-the-bench types, it doesn't bode well for how he'd handle pressure situations in the playoffs. But that's probably just me.

I wouldn't expect Beno to be playing against Detroit when the game is close or anyother Playoff game. This is a scrub game so I could care less if Beno made a lay-up on the opposing teams basket.

Wouldn't read too much into that. The Pistons dropped their last 2 and 3 of their last 4, when nothing mattered anymore. In the regular season, the gap between the teams was much wider than 1 game.

Funny Hill slam from their local fishwrap...

Back in January -- when Bob Hill met the people in charge of selling, promoting and marketing the Sonics -- whatever the coach has, it was on display and everybody recognized it .He dressed like a basketball coach on and off the court. He spoke like a basketball coach, and he carried himself like, well, a basketball coach. The execs walked away convinced their team was in the capable hands of a man who, if nothing else, looked as if he knew what he was doing. :rollinThe Sonics officially acknowledged that Monday by exercising the option on Hill's contract and bringing him back for another season. -- Seattle Times

I think Bob Hill is like OEM tires you get with your car. I once heard that the car companies wanted them "cheap, black and round...and they don't have to be black or round" :lol

I don't know how he's regressed. He averaged 14.2 points a game last year with Toronto, now with the Rockets and with Mcgrady and Yao, his scoring average dropped down a little, while his assists went up, which is considerably better than 7.8 PPG in 2002-2003 and 10.1 PPG 2003-2004.

Oh so we hate Vietnam vets.
I never said you guys hated Vietnam Vets, I never said I hated Vietnam Vets. I was making a stereotypical remark about old Vietnam Vets and trying to correlate it with NBA purists and their hate for And1. Nice way to put words in my mouth though.

BEHIND THE SCENES

There was one final bit of drama hovering over the Spurs after Popovich decided to put Duncan on the inactive list. Duncan — who earlier in the season called the NBA's dress code "a load of crap" — had to decide whether to borrow someone's sport coat or remain in the locker room.

Though his teammates suggested he try to squeeze into Finley's suit jacket, Duncan settled for borrowing Marks' black coat.

"I had an idea he might be icing it down tonight," Marks said. "Hence, I brought the one black jacket he told me he liked. I knew he wouldn't bring one."

The latest addition to Duncan's wardrobe drew mixed reviews. Parker and Ginobili thought Duncan looked "uncomfortable." :lmao

"I actually thought he looked pretty good," Finley said. "But he looks better in that tank top and shorts."
