Given the expectations...

Quick choice = Stromile Swift.

Suggestions?

I can't believe anyone thought Swift would improve. Near the top of my "told ya so" list for this season.

Stephen Marbury. Larry Brown has a history of turning PG's around. See Billups and AI.

That is an extremely hard question. Most people don't pay attention to players that suck.

Quentin Richardson is the Regressive Player of the Year.

2004-05: 14.9 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.22 spg
2005-06: 8.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.6 apg, .71 spg

Jerome James, if I had expected anything out of him, belongs on this list, too.

Tyson Chandler, maybe... but he sort of falls into the same "What You've Seen is What You Get" group with Swift.

I was also expecting more from Josh Smith this year...

I was also expecting more from Josh Smith this year...

I was impressed by him. He looks like he's added 20 lbs, he looks smarter out there, not just wailing his arms widely on defense and using his legs in transition.

Next year he breaks out. Last year was about establishing his promise, this season was about learning and getting physically ready for the NBA. Let's hope next season he puts it all together.

I knew Guru would say Swift before I even looked in the thread

Joe Johnson

Joe Johnson

+3.2 ppg
+3.1 apg
+.30 in steals

All by only playing a minute more a game?

I think we're just picking on the Hawks now.

I was also expecting more from Josh Smith this year...

He ended the year on fire. 17.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.3 blocks and 1.2 steals in the month of April. If he can do anything close to that next year, he's an All-Star.

Tyson Chandler

:tu

Chandler and Swift are two good names.

Yeah Chandler is more of a surprise, at least he used to play D and rebound. Swift just jumped high enough to get the attention of the Caspers of the world - few noticed he didnt' do much else.

Hmmmm, based on expectation ...

1. Eddy Curry - should have at least made them a contender to make the playoffs.

2. Marvin Williams - I know they weren't expecting him to be a star his first year, but I think they were expecting more than they got.

3. Rafer Alston - especially in comparison to Mike James, who he was traded for.

4. Antoine Walker - I think he's been really, really bad and not even close to what the Heat expected from him.

5. Larry Hughes - mostly due to injury, but still a very bid disappointment.

6. Jermaine O'Neal - especially after Ron Artest was traded, JO has not stepped up to lead his team to wins or an attitude and approach to winning.

Tayshaun Prince. His progress has been a bit of a disappointment for someone in their 4th season. With the new offensive style of the Pistons, his game is the only one that's lagged behind.

What?

Prince has played well for them, and you can't just look at stats because he's on the Pistons. With Big Ben grabbin all the boards, he won't be able to get many.

Ben gets 11 out of 41. That's 30 for Tayshaun to go after.

I'm gonna get in trouble, but you have to put Beno's name in there.

There were expectations.

check out iverson before brown came to sixers. AI grew as a person, that was due to age, not brown.

Um, check out how Iverson has done after Brown left.

Considering he's playing with four all-stars, should he be fighting his teammates for rebounds?
