I didn't see it. I was taken in some umm... Ruth Chris.... and Walmart excursion.

He had a mediocre game, but then had a bad turnover under pressure with less than a minute to go that gave Houston a shot to win.

He made one turnover, which legitimately should have been a foul. On another inbound, in the backcourt, he starts dribbling across court like he was going to make a cross court pass in the backcourt, a dangerous no no. The Rox fouled him, and he went to the FT line.

And missed one :pctoss

Though to be fair, he probably got rattled when Tim was cussing him out.

The fact remains he gave no indication that he could be trusted to bring the ball up against the Pistons in important situations.

Well, if that did happen, what did it accomplish? How about next time chewing his ass about 2 weeks before trade deadline and see if he can wake the fuck up.

Again, Beno against shitty opponents looks like Stockton, other than that, he is Anthony Carter Jr. with a jump shot.

Waive him.

Anthony Carter with a jumper is actually a decent point guard lol

Funny thing is that with all Beno's limitations, which are glaring, nobody cares to comment about Nick's. His shot selection is horrid, he is the most inefficient player wearing the Spurs uniform, but worst of all, he is OLD and SLOW. At one point in the game, he was stripped the ball badly, and his feet were cemmented on the floor. When he slowly turned to start running back on D, there was already a 3 on 1 break. It was painful to watch.

The PG backup situation is bad. I think I would consider playing Brent 10'-12' at the backup PG to give TP a breather.

Are you kidding? Nick has been getting reamed in too many posts to mention by people who apparently never saw him play before this year and were expecting the second coming of John Stockton.

Nothing NVE has done this year should be a surprise to anyone, as it's consistent with his ENTIRE CAREER. Yes, he takes shots way early in the shot clock, yes he's a year older and slower, and never was a very good defender. Just what should have been expected, and all the bitching about that should have been before the season started.

The difference is Beno was expected to IMPROVE. To be better at handling the ball against pressure. He isn't.

If you had to choose between the two, which one do you want taking the ball up against the Pistons at the end of a half? At the end of a game protecting a lead?

I thought he was improving this year, i thought he had some very decent games.
I guess i forgot he should be labeled again for 1 TO for the whole next season too. :angel

Between the two? Hmm, in this order:

1) Manu
2) Tony
3) Brent

Beno plays 10.9 min/g, 1.7 apg, 0.98 to/g, for a 1.7 assist/turnover ratio. On a full 48 basis, that's 7.5 assists and 4.3 TOs.
NVE plays 15.2 min/g, 1.9 apg, 0.88 to/g, for a 2.2 assist/turnover ratio. On a full 48 basis, that's 6.0 assists and 2.8 TOs.

TP plays 33.9 min/g, 5.8 apg, 3.11 to/g, for a 1.9 assist/turnover ratio. Full 48:
8.2 assists, 4.4 TOs.

Man, our PGs don't handle the ball all that well, do they :lol

Beno got into trouble in the closing minute last night. Bernie Fryar called him for travelling...actually dragging his pivot. Beno picked up his dribble and then couldn't make the pass across the timeline. He was doubled with a full-court press and, although Howard bumped him and squeezed him, he shouldn't have dribbled to the side and stopped. Fabri's inbounds pass was awful too. I don't remember if he had another timeout but if he had one to take...that would have been the time.

Tim got all over Beno later, with less than 10 sec. remaining after "Skip to my Lou" missed both FTs and bailed Beno and Fabri out. Beno tried to dribble away from people and he left his feet, so Timmy was getting after Beno to cover the ball with both arms and stand firm.

Beno has also struggled with lazy passes in the backcourt when he swings it to the top. He's telegraphing them and they have sails on them.

Beno hasn't gotten any better, its the stark reality of the situation.

Hes gotten worse.

To think he will be here, if the Spurs are offered something for him, is being a little unreal.

From a statistical perspective: last year, playing 30% more minutes (14.4 vs 10.9) he actually averaged fewer TO's per game (.96 v .98). He also had nearly twice as many steals (.51 vs .26) and four times the blocks (.13 vs .04).

Despite the limited playing time, his assists are up this year, (1.9 vs. 1.7), so his assist/turnover ratio has actually improved. His shooting percentage is up (45.5% vs 44.4%) as is his FT % (78.0% vs 75.3%). Scoring is down from 5.9 to 5.1 ppg, but with 30% less minutes his scoring/48 is actually up.
