Bibby always shoots lights out against us and Tony seems to struggle a little bit with Bibby.

Outside of Chauncey, this is by far going to be Tony's toughest matchup.

If you're not worried, you haven't been paying attention this season, that's all I'm saying

This year Bibby shot 45% against the Spurs and Parker shot 57% against the Kings.

Parker's shots are 2 point shots and Bibby takes a lot of 3's. That stat is misleading.

Okay, how's this?

This season Bibby shot 46% from 2 against the Spurs and Parker shot 57% against the Kings.

Not worried at all, My worries are with Artest & shit I forgot his name...their 2 guard. Bowen sometimes has problems with built players ala Lebron, Anthony.

I hate when people say that. Stats are stats, it is what it is. At the end of the day, if your goal is to compare stats, all that matters is who had the better stats. Maybe Bibby should try to drive more. And you want to fault TP for having the ability to score at the basket? I guess Kobe is overrated also. I don't believe Bibby's 3 pt % was all that good either. And maybe you should watch more Spurs games, TP's jumper is lloking pretty good, I'd say he's ahead of the curve. You're trying to discredit a player because he is smart enough and disciplined enough to play to his strengths?

Bibby shot a lot against the Spurs this season, so he averaged 28ppg in the 3 games. He shot over 21 times a game. To me, that's not "lights out". That's why I brought this up.

So, Parker hasn't played great defense against him and needs to limit Bibby's shot attempts, but it's not like Bibby played awesome against him either.

Parker on the other hand, shot 57.7% against the Kings are averaged over 21 ppg on 15 shot attempts.

Parker's ability to get to the rim and finish has accounted for most of his production. But as defenders became more focused on keeping him out of the lane the past three months, dropping off him or going under screens, Parker still shot 58.2 percent. He made a respectable 76.5 percent of his free throws in that time.

Bonzi Wells, if he get hot, he can be a problem for Manu. Wells can post up and use his size on Manu.

Spurs will win in 5. TD will dominate.

A cursory look back at the 3 games this season:

Nov 21st
TP 32 min, 9-16FGs, 0-0 3ptFGs, 5-7FTs, 2 assists, 23 points
Bibby 35 min, 11-23 FGs, 2-5 3ptFGs, 9-9FTs, 2 assists, 33 points

7 more shots to score 10 more points. Spurs win.

Dec. 17th
TP 37 min, 11-16FGs, 0-0 3ptFGs, 3-6FTs, 12 assists, 25 points
Bibby 40 min, 9-20FGs, 2-5 3ptFGs, 1-3Fts, 6 assists, 21 points

Parker outplayed by Bibby. Clearly.

April 5th

TP 30 min, 6-13FGs, 0-1 3ptFGs, 5 assists, 16 points
Bibby 45 min, 9-21FGs, 3-6 3ptFGs, 8 assists, 31 points

The sole game in which Parker had a slightly less than average game while Bibby went off. Bibby also played 15 more minutes and Parker (and the entire team) was coming off playing @Utah the night before. Kings were geeked up for that game while frankly the Spurs looked like they took the night off.

It's hard to say that Parker is somewhat of a lesser player than Bibby. I'd also say that the Parker v Billups comparison is a bit off. Maybe Spurs fans don't realize just how good Tony P is actually.

Never have and never will. When he has a great game you don't see any threads created. When he has a bad game, every type of bashing thread is created. Nevet understood why?

A. Manu would get worn out trying to guard Bibby.
B. Parker would have to then be put on Bonzi Wells.

Bad idea.

Parker versus Bibby will be a nice matchup. We'll see if Parker will be able to ride his regular season play into the postseason.

I must be the only one not worried about the Kings. I feel like we are going to tear them apart, especially now that Tim is healthy and Manu is regaining his form. Artest is too hotheaded to be effective in a long series.

You may have something there. Especially against somebody as cool as Bruce; Bowen may be the "Ice Man II" or "Ice Jr" (for different reasons, of course).

Also Bibby shooting 7-16 from 3 pointers is where that 45% would be increased. Not a big difference but an improvement.

Exactly. Parker's biggst challenge, I think, is to overcome a few subpar performances in past playoffs and show that he can maintain his high level of play this season so far.

Is a 1.6 percent improvement really going to strenghten your argument? Actually, your argument was so weak that it might.

Do you actually think Bibby is going to shoot 47 percent from the three point line in a series against the Spurs? That's way above his average.

Mike Bibby has reached the Western Conference Finals before!!!

He can shoot threes and free throws with consistency!!!

He's bigger and stronger than me!!!

actually im not worried about bibby, his been exposed in this series for sum reason, his been shootin horrible, same with miller who has been a nobody in this series. the only person im scared of is wells, he totally had his pts tonite, but sumhow we gotto find ways to force him to take jumpshots instead posting up down low for baskets. there were times when tp shootin which pissd me off, but who cares.

Like I said, TP would no be the problem on these series. Bonzi and Artest are the match up problems.
