of love in the 1st degree.

Ok, I'm not. But my wife had tuned my car radio to a country station and when I turned on my car this morning that song was playing. It reminded me of some school dances back in the 8th grade back in good 'ol San Antonio, and I had to laugh at the flashback. That song was the 'slow dance' song, and was playing the first time I kissed a girl.

Weird how songs, even corny ones like that, can take you back. :lol

For me it's when I hear that country song Unanswered Prayers. That takes me back to the high school sweetheart and what it would be like if I ran into him now. I'm so glad God didn't answer yes back then, although those were fun times and I wouldn't trade the experiences for anything. :spin

Ugh!

This song still reminds me of high school

Here come old flattop he come grooving up slowly
He got joo-joo eyeball he one holy roller
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker he just do what he please

He wear no shoeshine he got toe-jam football
He got monkey finger he shoot coca-cola
He say I know you, you know me
One thing I can tell you is you got to be free
Come together right now over me

He bag production he got walrus gumboot
He got ono sideboard he one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knee
Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease
Come together right now over me

He roller-coaster he got early warning
He got muddy water he one mojo filter
He say one and one and one is three
Got to be good-looking ’cause he’s so hard to see
Come together right now over me

Some idiot in high school would load the jukebox with quarters every lunch hour and play "come together" over and over and over and over...

It drove me to drugs...(at least thats my excuse LOL)

Well, I'm a youngster, so the shitty ballad tearing up the charts around the time of my prom was that Aerosmith song from Armageddon.

"I don't want to close my eyes
Don't want to fall asleep
Cuz I think I have a concussion
And you're supposed to stay awake if you do..."

How did you see my prom pics?

My prom was tinged with the ever-so ironic final song of that evening: "The End of the Innocence."

Appropriate on so many levels.

I'm with EHJ on that guilt thing -- my first girlfriend had some mix tape labelled "Make Out," that just had a bunch of Alabama songs thrown together, including the Chopper's favorite. I hear that song and have immediate flashbacks . . . .

My prom had a band who thought they were Ace of Base, who was popular at the time. They almost exclusively did covers of their songs. :vomit:

:lmao That was the first thing I thought when I saw that pic too. The only difference is that I'm a blonde.

I stayed long enough at my prom to take the picture and dance one dance ... then we GTFO of there .... but one of our favorite pass-times was having a few and bastardizing the lyrics of songs. In 1990 (the year of my prom), we could really do a number with this one:

All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You ~ Heart

You can only imagine. :)
