Nash and Vujacic got into it verbally after Nash got fouled then Kobe jumped in.

Nothing serious but there was a great visual for a couple of seconds of Kobe and Nash jawing at each other.

Marion is perfect for that scheme. Unfortunately, both the scheme and Marion get exposed in the playoffs. Whether it was JKidd, Starbury or Nash, they've always run uptempo during his career, and you just don't get those easy baskets against the better teams in the playoffs. Marion really has no half court offensive skills, other than sitting in the corner, a la Bruce Bowen. He doesn't handle the ball particularly well. He doesn't score well on the move. He can hit an open man, but can hardly be said to "create". He's a really good defender and a creature of the fast break. Unfortunately, the Suns are paying him like a franchise player, and he isn't one.

I hope it's LA vs LA cause that would be funny

I think the winner of that series would have an unfair advantage in the Western Conference Finals. The reason I say that is because they don't have to travel for one to two weeks.

Granted, SA and Dallas will probably face each other and each team only has to deal with a one hour flight.

But hypothetically, what if the Spurs had to play Seattle like last year? The Spurs would have been drained from the travel between Texas and Washington while the Lakers or Clippers were eating at home, sleeping at home, and driving to all their games in the semis.

pwned!

While I appreciate your clip of the Kobe charge and his ref ownership, the NBA has some lame rule about posting these on boards. Not nagging you at all, someone was just asking for verification of the charge. Just helping Kori out as she doesnt have time to be everywhere.

It'd rival the NY Yankees NY mets Subway series. But Suns will probably put away this series once their players quit underestimating the Scrappy Lakers team.

This game proved a few things:

1. Steve Nash is no MVP. This game is about winning championships. Nash has failed to do that ... or even get close. There is no way he should have won back-to-back MVP's.

2. Phil Jackson is the best coach in sporting history. That guy is an amazing, amazing coach.

3. The Suns don't make the WCF. I just don't see it now and I never have. If the Lakers don't finish them off, the Clippers will.

4. Canada Sucks

I agree, even though they didn't win game 1, the first two games in the series have been a testament to PJ's greatness. He had the Lakers slow the pace of the game to a crawl and has got the Lakers half-court offense running like a machine, with starters like Smush Parker, Luke Walton and Kwame Brown. That's not even getting into the job he's gotten them to do on the defensive end.

I'm not sure the Lakers can actually keep this up, considering the massive talent disparity between the teams, but if they do it'll be all Phil (with a healthy dose of Kobe Bryant).

Not to think too far ahead ... BUT, how about the prospects of a

Los Angeles v. Los Angeles second round match-up???

Talk about no homecourt advantage for the Clippers.

I know it's not guaranteed. But, certainly would be interesting.

It would be very interesting since the Clippers have no answer for Lakers perimeter players (mainly Kobe) in terms of guarding him, and the Lakers have no answer for the Clippers frontline (Brand, Kaman). There'd be no discerable difference in terms of homecourt, except among the season ticket holders.

Plus there's the underpinning of a 4th playoff matchup between Phil Jackson and Mike Dunleavy.

I'd love watching that series as they battled 7 games for the right to be swept by the Spurs/Mavs winner. Before you think that sounds degrading, think about the Clippers coming back next season with the experience of having won 2 playoff series. That's the prize for them.

Nash had a nice game but Kobe>Nash. This is only 1 game but Nash with a better supporting cast doesn't lead the supposedly better team to a win at home (6 turnovers). Kobe with a weaker supporting cast leads his team to a victory on the road against a higher seed.

And to atxrocker who said "i wish that canadian would kick kobes ass", you know that little piece of canadian bacon that comes on an Egg Mcmuffin, that's what Nash would have looked like if there had been fight. (they both know better) :lol

Great game by the Lakers...very nice indeed. Hopefully they can keep the momentum for the next 2 games @ Staples. There gameplan has been solid and Kobe's working within the offence very effectively. His shot will start going down more effeciently as the series go. It's not over yet...

I'm not sure the talent is as uneven as you think. Before this year a lot of the Suns players weren't exactly filling the stat sheet up. Boris Diaw was just starting to find his potential late in the season with Atlanta and Tim Thomas was sulking in Chicago (although he was a decnt player in Milwaukee.... not decent enough for that huge contract... but decent). Just like the Lakers live and die by the effectiveness of Kobe, so do the Suns with Nash. Which is why this series should undulate along with the performances of their respective superstars.
