Actually the game came down to us getting waxed on the boards. How the fuck do you let the other team's starting 2guard, the fucking SHOOTING GUARD, get 14 rebounds, 9 of them offensive? He's a fucking *guard*

Bonzi ain't an official guard, that fool damn near a power forward. Half of his rebounds were on his own misses around the basket.

I don't think Manu will play well, I think Artest and the Kings have his number, I wouldn't expect Manu to score thirty again against the Kings...

Manu is a basketball God !!! This was very unlike him, ,however, Pop should have recognized that it wasnt Manu's night and put the ball in Parkers hands.. Hell, even Beno's hands, Manu was way off tonite... he is only human.

My prediction, he will be a MONSTER on Sunday, he probobly feels worse than all of us combined and will want to make it up. When he is motivated like this, he is awesome.

Tim had a huge game against Orlando and they lost.

If Ginobili and parker had shown up tonight, they win this game.

Alas they didn't.

Onto the next game.

So wait, there are actually some Homers here who think the guy that had SEVEN FUCKING TURNOVERS should have been handling the ball at the end of the game?
yep manu can do no wrong
he is perfect everyone else can but him :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes

Manu has won too many games with the ball in his hands in the final seconds,

incorrect security? Maybe.

IMO Finley should've had it in case he was fouled.

Hell, do a 4 down, at least Tim would make 1 of 2 forcing them to make a 2 or a 3 to do anything.

Oh well.

Damn I hate losses like this.

So much second guessing.

I HATE second guessing.

Right now it really SUCKS, because the last to games we came out on top. We've been too self-satisfied. The best players overcome adversity, and maybe the Spurs needed to lose this one. They deserved it with how shitty they came in, it shouldn't have been close with the effort Tim was putting in. I trust Manu, Tony to come bounce back from this, especially Manu. He probably feeling it right now. He had a bad game in game 6 of the Finals with the TO's tried to force the issue a lot and he looked to correct himself for game 7. So hopefully Sunday's game proves better.

i dont know how many of you were expecting a sweep after how close game 2 was but i wasn't. and in reality, we were out hustled all night and though we had a superb come back and i'm EXSTATIC for tim's return, the kings deserved this game. we'll come out in game 4 with a vengeance and then close out in game 5. hopefully the grizz and force a game 5 as well cuz the last thing we need is a really well rested mavs team

That sucked, but it's cool. They lost at least one game in every series last playoffs. It's not the end of the world.

I'm not dissapointed necessarily because we lost, I'm dissapointed because I think we had a better chance of winning if the ball had been in someone elses hands, I mean all we really had to do was get a good shot up, but that didn't happen.

You know I can understand the times when Tim shoots horribly for three quarters and still get shots in the fourth, there have been many times that he's come though for us, but I just don't think that Manu deserves the same ammount of respect that Tim gets, especially since we aren't talking about shooting, we are talking about his ability to protect the basketball, which he did a horrendous job of tonight...

Manu's contributions and hustle are greatly appreciated here.

HOWEVER, given his overall horrible game, he most certainly should have not been on the floor, let alone anywhere near the ball on that final sequence.

He had a bad night, and the coach should have taken him out or drew up a better play for him to get the ball secured while draining the clock, not that driving travesty, I don't know what the point of that was Foul? Layup?

It's so funny how we turn on the players with each play. Objectively, Manu put us in the position to take the win with the set up for Fin, played great D on Artest but then took it away. He was terribly off tonight and pop should have read it by the 6th TO. Manu's done more Good for us than bad anyway.

But props to the Kings, they outplayed us up to the very minute. Bibby made up for his blunder and we underestimated his aggressiveness.

I'm not turning on Manu, he's entitled to have a bad game, especially since he was a huge part of us winning the last one, I'm turning on Pop because he should have known better than to put the ball in his hands at the end of the game...

Its just frustrating that we HAD the lead and could not keep it!!!!

Our interior D sucked for a large part but the team DID have some fight to catch Sacto.

Just think -- Sacramento needs to be worried -- they throw everyting at the SPURS including the kitchen sink and the SPURS STILL had a chance to steal this game!!!!

That's a great thought for us to fans to bask in, but I think the Spurs should stay away from that mentality. They just need to worry about themselves and start loading up their kitchen sinks for game 4... :spin

Exactly... the Spurs arent exactly setting the Basketball world on fire. They looked terrible the last 2 games. There is NO WAY the Kings should have been that close in 2 of 3 games. The SPurs better put it in gear or this season will be over.

Damn they werent going to sweep the Kings, anyone that thought they would was being too optimistic.

The Kings are a damn good team, and deserved the win tonight.

Congrats to them, onto to beating their asses in in game 4 and 5, end it, then rest and focus on round 2.

if we win sunday, the kings have a great shot of winning the series. im not saying that just cuz im a kings fan, but they'll have the confidence and momentum going into san antonio. manu gave the game away for us, why would he try and draw a foul when the refs aren't gonna make another call with the game on the line.

Mistake by Manu.... the series is 2-1 set to come to SA to finish the series.... I dont understand the bitterness.

We got VERY lucky with Barry's shot, they got lucky with a bad night from Manu.... all it does is delay the inevitable.

Spurs in 5 like I said from the begining.

Question though, why is it the Spurs get the "uncommon" 8th seed teams to play ALL the time? :lol

ploto
04-29-2006, 12:37 AM
Props to Tim and the bench.

When only one starter plays decent, it is tough to win. Manu and Tony were inconsistent and Bruce and Nazr never even showed up. We got a nice offenisve lift off the bench at different times from Finley, Beno, Brent, and even Rasho and a nice rebounding lift from Rasho- who also managed to get a hand on more balls on the defensive end than I have ever seen.

I just worry about Tim turning around and playing in less than 48 hours.

Not really. You could say the same thing about us we'd be up 3-0 if some balls went the Spurs way. Each preceding game affects how the next game is played.

yes, but the real world doesnt deal in "what if's"

what if Duncan didnt have PF?

what if Parker and Gino didnt play like crap today?

What if Bonzi and Martin didnt go off in game 2?

what if Artest never came to SAC?

What if Artest wasn't a complete mental case?

What if Sacramento DIDNT suck as a party town? :drunk

Great series shaping up guys and gals.

Artest has single-handedly made our entire roster better by teaching defensive-mindedness to our guys. He shuts down whoever he guards, so don't feel bad. It happens to everyone. :spin

Okay, a little boasting and I'm done. This was a tough, unexpected loss for you, since the momentum was definitely swinging your way the last four minutes. It was a hard fought game, and most of us were as surprised as you all!

Bibby raked Ginobili on the drive and a King clipped the net on the final layup. Last time I checked, that's a goaltend. simply put, the Refs won that fuckin' game for the kings.... The parade to the free throw line to keep the Kings in the game was assinine. But I'm not worried. We'll win game 4 and close this fucker out at home.

I love it...blaming the ref's...

BTW...24 fouls called on each team. It doesn't get more even than that!! # of FT's is NOT the measuring stick...

Howabout Manu? Sets up Finley for the three, and then goes down and makes the defensive play of the game on Artest.
Thank you Manu for making the defensive play of the game on Artest only to let Bibby one up you.
