Have you guys ever been there?

They are opening some new locations (410 & Blanco will be the next one). And we might have some GTG's there in the future. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback.

They suck. One time they wouldn't accept my coupon and I ended up getting confronted by 8 of their lion security team.

I have been to the the one on Broadway several times and loved their food as well as their customer service. They have separate party rooms for GTG's. I've only been for lunch GTG's but always enjoyed it.

Thanks, 2Blonde. I'm going to go have a look at the 410&Blanco location this week (before it opens) but I wanted some input from someone who has been to their other location.

I've been to the one on Broadway before. Good atmosphere, food, and drinks. Plus, it's Irish!

The last time I was there was on my birthday. It was fun, but incredibly smokey. My eyes were burning when I left and I felt like I had smoked a carton of cigarettes.

Wow, I've been misinformed this entire time. That's okay, I like the British too. Thank you for the correction! :elephant

That's okay, it's no big deal. They still serve liquor and know how to have fun. That's what counts. :lol

Well if we went there, we'd have a private room. So I don't think smoke would be a big problem.

Scott -- want to elaborate?

I saw the Spurs win the championship in 2003 in the driver's lounge at Price's Truck Stop in Roswell, NM. Can we have a GTG there? :lol

My friends and I (who are regulars of the Flying Saucer, I should point out) have given Lion and Rose a try on two seperate occassions and have had equally negative experiences both times.

First off, their beer selection is decent for a bar, but their prices are rediculous. IIRC, they want $5+ for a pint of premium beer (which will run you $4 tops at the Saucer unless you are going for some really premium stuff).

Both times, the service was extremely bad - we'd sit around with empty beer glasses for 10-15 minutes at times before our waitress would come check on us again. Then, when we asked about a beer they had on their menu that I hadn't seen before (even at the Saucer), the waitress was completely unaware of what it was, nor was she interested in finding out for us. Then she proceeded to insult the beers were were drinking (Young's Double Chocolate Stouts... "that stuff is so gross, can't believe you drink that!!!" and not in a funny, sarcastic sort of way).

So... that's why I don't like that place, plus it is very smokey as previously mentioned (despite the fact they sell food... I guess they are exempt from the smoking ordinance?)

Well We had no problems with the smoke in their. In fact we discussed it with the owner. He told us about the filtering system that they were using. It was working great the several times I was there. I am very sensitive to smoke and if it was very bad I am sure it would have bothered me. Our food was excellent, the portions were large and the service was fantastic and friendly every time I have been there. I guess it's hit or miss like any place else. I've been incredibly lucky so far.
