I was talking about this yesterday to Slomo. I think there has to be way more to it than what is being said in the press. I don't think you can suspend one of your top players in the middle of the playoffs indefinitely just because he disagrees with you about playing time.

I haven't heard any juicy rumors but I'd like to know exactly what went down with him and Georg Karl.

dude basically went off on George Karl during halftime of Game 1 and evidentally it wasn't very nice and an apology wasn't good enough.

They just reported on BSPN that KMart came into the locker room and started going off on his teammates, because he wasn't being played. Then Karl came in and he said something like "I'm fucking tired of this shit. Play me." So the Nuggies said, screw it, and suspended him.

Exactly. My guess is that there must have been some sort of physical confrontation between Karl/Martin, not just an argument.

On TNT the other night, the sideline reporter was saying that the whole team supported Karl's decision, and that if he DIDN'T suspend Kenyon, then Karl "would have lost the team".

Now, that is some serious shit right there. They didn't go into a lot of details, and I may have missed some, as they were already talking about it when I tuned in. But for the whole team to be lost if Martin isn't suspended sounds like more to me than just a locker room tirade.

Jim Grey said tonight during the Clips Nugs game that Kenyon walked into the lockeroom at the half of game 3 and first baraded his teamates, then Karl. Jim Grey then went on to say that witnesses said they heard KMart shouting "if you are not going to use me then I quit."

I dont know but a player saying he quits during the playoffs whether or not he means it is grounds for an indefenite suspension.

Jim Grey also reported that KMart will not play again in this series and possibly, if the Nuggets advance in the playoffs, in the playoffs. He said something along the lines of he thinks Kmart has played his last game as a Nugget.

For Remainder of First Round Playoff Series




DENVER, Apr. 30 -- The Denver Nuggets announced today that the suspension of forward Kenyon Martin will last through the remainder of the team’s first-round playoff series.

Game 5 between the Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers is Monday, May 1 at 8:30 pm MT at the Staples Center. The game will be televised locally on Altitude and TNT.

A Statement from Kenyon Martin:

“First and foremost, I want to apologize to my teammates and coaching staff for my actions on Monday night. There is nothing more important to me than being a good teammate and giving 110% effort each and every day. Nothing will ever change that.

"I sincerely regret if this situation has been a distraction for the team, Mr. Kroenke and the Denver Nuggets organization.

"I take the responsibility of representing the Denver Nuggets very seriously and I truly hope that Nuggets fans understand that. I support the team fully and can’t wait to rejoin them on the court as soon as possible. Right now, the focus should be on the playoffs and getting a Game 3 victory.”
